CLS55 AMG IWC Ingenieur Edition

It's been discussed recently, it's a scam and unfortunately some people have fell victim to it :(

This is very much so with this particular car, apparently it's based in Finland, on UK reg, and seller claims he will transport it back to uk to buyer, all absolute rubbish, apparently Ebay and the police, fraud department are not interested in pursuing the matter at all, leaves this individual totally open to keep advertising this car and to screw over anyone who has not done their homework,:wallbash::(:( sorry state of affairs! The guy I know seems to have lost his money,:(

It's in Greece now. The plan is that I pay the money to a company called AES Logistics, and they keep it safe until the car is delivered and I authorise the release of the money. I'm stringing the seller along for the moment, but I've asked for a scanned copy of the V5C so I can check out the document and the ownership. We'll see what if anything turns up.

No, I won't hand over a penny until the car is delivered to me. In the vanishingly unlikely event that happens, I'll take a chance on this Nigerian prince who wants me to help him get £120,000,000 out of the country. What could possibly go wrong....

The deal gets even better. I only need to pay HALF the money up front, then he'll ship the car. I don't think he can find the V5, though; perhaps he left it behind in Finland...

Crikey its a good job some are on the ball here. Fairly innocuous advert but the zero feedback for the seller would have raised initial question mark. Great shame people have been taken in.

Scammer's final shot: "Anyway I have been advised by the delivery company not to exchange any kind of information like documents or serial numbers because of my situation : I am in a foreign country and the vehicle is here with me."

My final shot: "The ‘delivery company’ is talking out of its ****. Without evidence of ownership, I will make no payment. You could, for example, be a cheating git who set up the delivery company himself as a scam, who has no car for sale, and who originally claimed the car was in Finland. If I’m wrong, send me a copy of the V5 and we’ll proceed."

Just in case any other possible mugs Google the car, the registration is MY55KMR. It's not in Finland, or Greece, or wherever next the seller claims, and his suggested shipping and escrow company, AES Logistics (at AES LOGISTICS - International Shipping Solutions,) is a scam too.

Great parting shot- love it.

Scams rely on one of the seven deadly sins; people's greed. Thinking they're getting a great deal and buying something cheap ends, more often than not, in tears.

The most I'll ever put on a car without seeing it is £100 because that's what I'm prepared to lose, yet I've had people want to send me £20k via bank transfer to buy my car without even seeing it and I refuse until they've seen it and been to my home, crazy how trusting people are at times.

Shame Ebay itself, or the fraud investigation police side of these type of things, did not put any such effort as yourself has to exposing this chap, and to close this guy down in such a 'Live' case, undoubtedly the guy will take more money from unsuspecting people, the older you get the more untrusting you get of people, is it surprising! given such a case, I personally find it very sad:mad::mad: and feel sorry for the people taken, in our lives we all get taken at one stage, it's how we learn, again, a sorry sad way of life:dk:

^^ Sadly very true, but as you get older I think you are more likely to spot a scam when you come across one.

Back up for sale again folks, beware!!!

Mercedes Benz CLS55 AMG Limited Edition | eBay

Good job I googled the reg and found this thread, I thought it was far too good to be true! I'll be reporting it to eBay, but unfortunately as others have already said I'm sure eBay will do nothing about it.

It's a real shame, the main thing I was most excited about was finding a cls55 that isn't silver

Is it the same seller?

I can't stand EBay's lack of responsibility on stuff like this. You can come into my house and use it for anything you want. I don't care & anything criminal that goes on or someone gets hurt I don't want to know. It's not my problem. EBay are just as bad as the criminals. Isn't it an offence to knowingly harbor a criminal?

Different user name, zero feedback, same header pic as before. I've asked whether I can come and see it, but he may remember my eBay ID and ignore me. If he does reply, I wonder where the car will be now? Not Rochester, I suspect...

Here's his reply...

Hello,

I`m still selling the 2006 Mercedes Benz CLS55 AMG, Petrol Automatic , which comes with new MOT and Road Tax, mileage only 76,800 miles with full service history, never involved in any type of accident, excellent condition, looks and drives great. We are always looking for a quick sale , so you can purchase this car for a great price of £9,000. I have tried to send more photos and the Car Facts Certificate ( Vehicle Certificate Report ) through eBay but I was not able, I don`t know way , maybe it is an eBay Classifieds errors. For this reason I am asking you to contact me directly to my personal address [email protected] please paste 2006 Mercedes Benz CLS55 AMG in the subject.

My regards,

Daniel Hartley,
[email protected]

I thought eBay stopped people sharing private email addresses and phone numbers?? I haven't responded to this message and probably won't bother, I've reported the listing to eBay and really this should be enough for them to remove it but we'll see.

Of course it's still a scam. I asked when I could come and see it, and received the same message as Tezray.

Mr. Daniel Hartley seems to have lost touch with the UK market; the car comes with new MoT and Road Tax...

Just in relation to this Ltd Edition CLS, were they all produced in the same colour combo??

The IWS, yes, with Titanium Grey finish or whatever it's supposed to be called!

Perhaps he also doesn't know that the car was MOT'd on 25th October 2017 at Kwik fit in Grays.

Guys, i don't own a CLS55 but i have ended up in this forum as i was trying to track down a suspicious email address in relation to an ebay add for a Touareg R50. I messaged the guy about part ex and a cash sum but the reply was extremely suspicious in that he would only contact via email and that i had to put a very specific subject title. Surprise the email address is captured in the following reply from him/her/it:

"If you are still interested in my 2008 Volkswagen Touareg 5.0 TDI please contact me directly at [email protected] for more details. Please paste 2008 Volkswagen Touareg 5.0 TDI in the subject. Thanks, Manuel"

See he is no longer a Daniel and is now called Manuel
