Has anyone colour coded there front grill at all, if so does it look any good and are there any pics that anyone has to share as I am thinking about doing it on my C240 Sport as a change to the avantgarde mod that seems to be popular at the moment.

Any thoughts on this.

Jon

I think this is a mod that differs greatly depending on the colour of the car. Yours is 189 like mine and Koolvin's I think. I don't know how it would look, if you want I could photoshop mine to see.

what's more, this should have been posted in the bodywork forum!

Still undecieded, Shude did you manage to photoshop your car at all ?
Not yet! I will try to remember to do it tonight.

I toyed with having mine totally painted in azurite when I had my smash last year, but decided I liked my Grill too much....
Then again I saw a C on the motorway last night in a dark colour with all the grill painted and the hood badge missing, it looked very nice and clean.....

Their slats are black behind the chrome. Confusing buggers aren't they!

sorry for being thick but aren't your grills chrome ?????:D
There are several parts to the grill.

1. The frame
2. The insert
3. The chrome strips on the insert.

The normal grill is chrome frame, grey plastic insert and 3 chrome strips.

The Avantgarde style grill comprises of the chrome frame, shiny black plastic insert and 5 chrome strips.

You could colour code any or all of those components I suppose, if it is a black part and your car is very dark in colour (like ours) then I would recommend painting the black plastic insert as well so it doesn't "clash" :)

I will post some "artist's impressions" later today :)

I got a price for the avantgarde grill for my 203...

£74+vat . Looks simple enough to install it . about 8 bolts.
