Hi,

I’m trying to find out how to connect a comand 2.0 to my W210 MY2001. Currently my car is equipped with an Audio 10 CD unit, and I have found some information on how to make a converter from the existing C connector to the C1 and C2 connector but not with regard to the speed signal.

I have read a lot of QA’s in this forum concerning the speed signal but I’m getting a little confused.

Are the speed signal transmitted through the CANbus on my W210 MY2001? If this is not the case where can I find this signal, and which wire color should I look for?

This modification for speed signal is not needed. Just plug in.

Pin connections for C1 and C2 are posted many times in here. C1 is only for CD player and TV tuner. C2 is also for CD player and TV tuner but also for CANBUS. The pin diagram was posted by me and several other people.

Thanks!

I talked to my local MB ‘stealer’ some time ago, and he insisted that the speed signal needed to be connected in order to make it work, even though my car and the Comand unit are equipped with the CANBUS interface. Sow that’s way I’m asking for advice from guys on this forum.

I have the feeling that my local stealer don’t know sh**. He also insisted that I need a complete wiring at a cost of £200  , and that an adaptor form a standard GPS antenna (RG174) to the HRS connector on the Comand doesn’t exist  - which the HOWTO forum have proofed wrong ;) .

the wiring loom adapter for the 203 C class costs around £20 & includes the canbus wires that connect to those already in the existing Audio 10 connector . th egps adapters do exist but only in germany - megacomm I believe still do them . Mb do a long extention adapter if you mount the antenna under the rear parcel shelf
