I have a new W204 with Comand and the Media Interface with full Ipod control. The Ipod volume level is significantly lower than radio so that when a traffic announcement interrupts the Ipod, it is very loud. Despite adjusting the volume during announcements it does not remember the volume level for the next announcement. The dealer is unable yet to come up with a solution. I am surprised that MB have not noticed this because the Interface is an extra and primarily for Ipod use. Any suggestions on how to solve this would be most welcome.

The is an amp available but AFAIK it is only for the Ipod kit not UMI. iPod Volume too low fixes

Checked to see if there is an independant volume setting for each source? Have you asked the dealer to check if there is a firmware update available for your Comand unit or UMI?

The unit does not appear to have independant volume settings for each source or volume memory. My other car a Mazda MX5 has this. I have asked the dealer if there is a firmware update but I still find it surprising that MB are not aware of this issue.

Did a quick search. There are posts on other forums about this problem going back to when the UMI first came out if you search google. Surprised there hasnt been a firmware update to fix it.

Richard or Alfie will be able to advise when they see this thread.
