I have a new E350 CDi with the Comand multimedia system. I've paired my mobile phone with Comand via bluetooth and imported the Contacts list from the mobile to Comand. In daily use, I tend to add and delete a lot of contacts on my mobile but can find no way of importing the latest contacts list into Comand. (I would have thought that every time Comand links to the mobile, it would have compared the two lists and then asked if I wished to sync them.) The only options given to me by Comand is to import vCards (which I don't use) or to delete the contacts list on the mobile. It is going to be a pain if I have to add/delete in Comand each contact that I have added/deleted on my mobile. Anyone have a solution to this?

You can either delete and resync the whole phonebook each time you make a change on the phone, or just manually delete or the add the contact you have changed on the phone to the Comand system.

Sorry to hijack, but it is a similar question to the OP. Can anyone tell me if there is any way to import a Blackberry contacts to Comand using Bluetooth yet?

Thanks

I think it is just a PITA, if they made this clear I too would have paid the extra for the phone prep which just uses the contacts on the phone directly.

Callahan, the Blackberry contacts are about the only thing that works smoothly - I loaded my contacts from a 8120 via bluetooth without any problems. The real hassle is with an iPhone.

I have a Curve 8900 (I think) and can't find a way to do it. Might end up transferring all the contacts to another phone, importing them to Comand, then linking my BB back in. PITA is right.

Thanks

Just for future reference I found this guide to importing Blackberry contacts and it worked for me:

ON THE DEVICE: 9780

Go to Options
Click on Networks and Connections
Click on Bluetooth Connections
You will see Bluetooth...."on"
Discoverable "Yes"
Under the Paired Devices Heading you will see the devices that are paird. In my particlar case, it was MB Bluetooth (Mercedes Benz Bluetooth)
Highlight the device and click trackpad. You will see options pop up. You should see as one of the 6 options there an ption to "transfer contacts"
otherwise, click full menu and you will find it within there.
This will re-activate the bluetooth and start the process of transferring the contacts into the in-car command centre.
Let it do it's thing......and voila...all contacts transferred into the in-car bluetooth commance centre.
