Got a coolant warning level warning driving my W210 today - any chance this might be related to me having a fiddle last week with my duo valve?

I'll check the levels in the morning - for the time being (I am booked into Olly week after next to change the offending duo valve) can I use generic coolant to top up, or should I use a particular MB spec.

I really shouldn't touch my cars, all sorts of things untoward always happen.

It being summer Charles and if you do not need a lot of coolant in there just top it up with water.

This is in view of you going to Olly's next week.

Is it red or blue - that being the full extent of my knowledge on coolant.

The coolant coursing through the duo valve was of a blue tinge, although it might have been a result of the weather.

Do you have any evidence for your assertion that this is summer John?

Warm Rain!!

Hi Charles, the radiator and (I'm pretty sure the hoses too) were brand new in March 2010, so it's extremely unlikely the problem lies in that area.

Everything was fine until I fiddled with the duo valve so I doubt any other cause. Just wanted to check that there might be a connection.
