Hey folks,

So, my original elegance alloys are off being refurbed, and I'll be putting them back on this weekend. However, I've had my original wheel bolts cut down to size in order to safely use the Brabus alloys; so I need new wheel bolts to use my original alloys!

The question is, are these the right bolts? I spoke to the guy on the phone, and he basically says I need to make sure myself that they are exactly the right bolts for me - he won't take a refund if I make a mistake. I'll want to buy these locking wheel nuts along with them. Total of £40 including postage, which I think is very reasonable, but only if they are the correct bolts for my 2000/W W210 E320cdi with 16" 11 hole alloys.

Anyone know? :-)

Cheers,

-simon

Hrm, been told by a friend who knows a bit more than I do about cars that he thinks they should be OK, but he didn't sound convinced. Anyone able to confirm? I'd really appreciate it...

And another question (not that I've had a roaring response so far!) - do I need tapered or radius seated bolts?

Cheers,

-simon

Alloy wheels should as far as I am aware, use radius bolts.

Try asking/looking at Murray's website for these bolts..i'm sure they'll be able to advice.

Yeah, had a look and they are selling the original bolts u need and they have some offers with the McGard locking bolts as well...but just check the exact details...

Hrm, I couldn't find any wheel bolts on their site, just a link to their ebay shop selling wheels. Do you have a link? Or maybe I'll give Chris a bell when I get a second (top guy who has helped me before :-)

Simon,

At thier website, look under products and scroll down a little (on their website, not the pop-up screen), the bolts section is one of the first few items. Hope you'll locate it.

Just spoke to Chris at Murray Systems. They don't usually sell accessories, except to folk who are buying wheels from them. But for a forum member he's happy to help out - so I'm getting a brand new set of 16 original Mercedes bolts (M12 x 1.5 x 39mm) plus a set of McGuard locking wheel nuts for £65 delivered. Result!

Excellent news....elegance wheels back on in no time then...!!!:)

I had a look at the links in the first post..
It's a bit cop out to place the responsibility on the consumer..
32mm bolts would give under 10mm bolt penetration, less some wasted in the hub and in tapered holes.. TUV specifies 6.4mm minimum thread engagement, and a 32mm won't give you that.
Current and previous generation Mercedes have all used radius seated bolts, R12 for M12, R14 for M14.
Our website is being reconstructed and reliance on eBay to show the wheel products dropped.. It will be easier to use soon!
