Corrupted Becker Map Pilot, any fixes?

Update,
The unit was sent to the Becker Harman factory in Germany, only to be promptly returned saying , " we are unable to connect to it" which is rubbish as i can connect to it , i just cant alter the data.

So they were utterly useless and cost me £12 over seas postage

Basically I can see data on the BMP drive but still cant alter it , its like its been protected somehow, i am sure there must be some how to restructure the flash drive somehow.

Windows will start to format in fat32 , gets to 99% then says unable to complete.

Garycat , any chance you can look at yours for me please mate ? and confirm how many drives come up when plugged into a PC , i currently have x3 drives showing.

1-K drive
2-removable G drive not accessible
3-BPM drive H has data on it , but i cant delete or add to it

Has any of you emailed or phoned Becker in Germany, I had the same issue, dead BMP after software update that went wrong, I emailed them and they said to send the unit to them, I did this, admittedly months ago and this week have had a refurb unit sent to me.

i sent mine to the same place and the same person named as in your letter, with no luck.

it seems they lost yours and replaced it for free as it took a few months to resolve for you

they also said my device wont connect to windows, and there is a issue with the flash memory, and cant help with hardware issues.

I emailed them back and said it was fine before your firmware update via content manager, they replied back again and said " please send the device and we see if we can install firmware" yet they said they tried this already and it dont work.

So i dont what they are doing there?

It costs £11.95 to post to Germany everytime , i dont mind that cost if i know they will fix it, but not for them to keep sending it back, simply stating " we cant connect to it "

Just 1 drive for mine, with the files I posted above.

Flash drives do sometimes get corrupted, the USB stick I had my music on in the car went bad and stopped playing properly. I just had to bin it.

Apparently as I updated to the new firmware setup, thats what can cause the failure it messes up the file and partition structure of the Becker

All i wanted to do was a back up my data , in the content manager , it then told me there was a firmware update and i followed the instructions, you know just like Itunes does for iphones lol ,,,, after my unit was dead.

i must admit i have never had a USB flash device fail me, always a first though eh lol

My advice anyone who reads this in the future , DO NOT UPDATE YOUR BECKER !!

i think my becker is now ready for the bin,

My new Becker arrived , fitted to car and worked perfectly, i decided to connect to the PC and backed up the data on the Becker MP drive using windows explorer not content manager !. and it worked fine,

Also i had the same partitions as my damaged one,

E: CD drive
F: removable drive ( not accessible )
G: Becker MP drive

I managed to get mine fixed and got the maps updated from a UK company called Revtronic, so far i am happy.

Hi, i am having similar problems. I think the battery inside my BMP M013 warped and failed, this caused the digital files to corrupt. They were all in wingdings format when I connected to my PC to check.

I could not copy them to back them up. I had to delete everything.

In the meantime, I have my friends BMP 900x which works perfectly in my car.

Is is possible to somehow copy and paste all the files from his BMP into mine, and change the serial numbers in the appropriate xlm files and have mine back up and running again ?

Or am I wasting my time ?

I have tried this by amending the device.xlm to my MO13 serial number but I get an error message in my car, activation error 7.

Has anyone managed this at all ? Thank you

Not worth it - you can easily get a newer, used one for much less.
