Being bored out of my mind this PM whilst Mrs S. & friend went for a mega shop, I wandered off to the oil section and made a quick note of what is currently available (in Reading at least) and prices.

Here you go, all prices inclusive of VAT.

Mobil

Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel 0w40 5 Litres £29.98

Mobil1 New Life 0w40 5 litres £29.98

Castrol

Castrol Edge 5w30 4 litres £29.98

Castrol Edge 5w40 4 litres £29.98

Castrol Magnatec 5w30 4 litres £22.78

Castrol Magnatec 10w40 8 litres £35.98

Castrol GTX 15w40 4 litres £15.58

Chevron

Supreme Semi Synthetic 5w30 20 litres £44.38 (ACEA A5/B5, API SL/CF)

Supreme Part Synthetic 10w40 20 litres £44.38 (MB 229.1, ACEA A3/B3 & A3/B4)

Not Costco's fault, but annoying that Mobil 1 is now in 5 litre containers rather than 4 ... (the SL takes 8 litres!).

Many thanks for the post. Very useful.

No Mobil 1 ESP 5W30 I presume. Pity.

My car takes 4.5L. Some winners, some losers.

Costco Price as on 5-Aug-2013.
Mobil1 New Life (0w40) - 5 litres for £29.98

I think that Mobil 1 was the one I was buying from them, but what's the "new life" part of that?

I can't remember, do Costco add vat on at the till?

£29.98 inc vat. They do New Life and Turbodiesel both 0w-40, more info on them on Mobil site but both MB spec.

That changed about 3 years ago.

Forgot to mention if you want 4l bottles why not get the Petronas engine oil, it is MB approved and is the oil used for the factory fill now.

4l with ECP forum discount for the 5000AV is £24.45

I've bought mine from there for the last couple of years. Price has been constant
