Hi all
Got a couple of niggles I want to sort out. OSF door mirror doesnt heat up, was diagnostic'd ages ago and did come up with a fault. Before I got the car it had a window motor on that door and wondering if it could be related or whether its a common fault?
On the a/c heat controls there are left and right rocker buttons lit at night. Left is lit, right isnt, hate how it looks. Any ideas how to get in there to change the bulb/check continuity?

Car is a 2000my s430 lwb

Driver's side replacement mirror is expensive if you go OEM as it's auto dimming.
To get the a/c unit out, undo the two torx screws inside the ashtray. Remove the ashtray and then gently pull the lower part of the wooden panel out. It's only held in with spring clips. This should then allow you to remove the a/c unit from the wooden panel and replace the bulb.

I see what you mean! n/s £92 on inchcape site, o/s £302 ouch.
Could there be any other reason for the glass not demisting other than element in the glass failing?

Failing heating element is quite common on our cars. All three of mine have had at least one go during my ownership.
One of them was my W220, and yes it was o/s.
Fortunately I managed to find one on eBay for a bargin price. Took about two years for one to come up though (seriously). There are a couple of parts suppliers on here, but you're still looking at about £150.

If you can live without autodimming, then you could probably get an normal heated one for about fifty pounds.

Is it getting current to the element ?
