1) Is there a steering damper on my car, and where is it? On the control arm somewhere? I presume a replacement (if needed) wouldn't affect the geometry? I'm asking because I'm still trying to isolate a slight wheel imbalance and slight modulation on braking (even on fresh discs).

2) There is a 3rd engine suspension mount listed in the catalogue - is this also referred to as a transmission mount? And is it just a case of jacking the engine up to do this one?

Ah, I just found out no steering damper on the W210. I wonder how easy it is to replace those control arm bushes.

The steering dampers are built into the rack. They are where the hydraulic connections join the rotary valve and will never wear out.

The third mount is a gearbox mount on the tail of the gearbox. Jack under the tail and unbolt the carrier, change the mount and remove jack.
Test by lifting the rear of the gearbox and checking for too much movement or cracking.

Thanks, will check that out tomorrow possibly, weather depending.
