Hi well this is what mercs have given me to use why mine is in the shop
got to say what a lovely car smooth as ya like plenty of poke soooo comfortable just a nice place to be ....only thing is the soundtrack isn't there like on the c63 that v6 is quick enough really but just sounds like a vacuum cleaner very little engine noise but still a great car

I guess this is because the V6 are meant to be cruisers and I would assume most buyers are over 65 ;-p

Sounds good considering a 350 SL would be at least 34 years old by now :D

I'm guessing you really have an SL 350? :)

PMSL LOL yep SL 350 got say its a great car is it turbo or n/a ? in the real world its more power than your ever need

It's NA, gives a little over 300 bhp IIRC which is pretty good. Performance pretty close to the V8 500, but much better fuel consumption.

not really ..

SL350: 306hp, 370NM 3500 to 5250rpm, 0-100km: 5.9 secs
SL500: 435hp, 700NM 1800 to 3500rpm, 0-100km: 4.6 sec

1.3 secs isn't a huge difference in 0-62, IMO.

Don't get me wrong though, I'd still want the V8 ;) :D

I have got an SL500 on order. I have tried both the 350 and the 500. The difference in performance is huge, they are totally different cars.

The V6 is quick but the V8 is much, much faster. I think it is the huge low down torque as much as the increase in power.

At low revs the V8 is even quieter than the V6.

I hope you're not having a go at us over 65s who have bought V6s!
