Courtesy car

In London, arriving in a black cab is totally class-less.

Don't ask, you don't get.

Did you explain to them that you would require a suitable vehicle to entertain clients in?

Does he perform juggling and magic tricks as well? In that case the extra head room in a B class would be ideal:D

I meant in the event that a courtesy car is required. I personally don't need one and therefore don't take it even where it is offered.

Also, Olly does offer a courtesy car, though it is not free, which is actually quite sensible.

I know he does...but is it new?

. As am part of a multinational turning over £45,000,000 a year, the clients I meet, discuss business with and later drive around expect no less than a lux car and frankly I find it a disadvantage to drive a B class for this.

All I can say is, what pretentious sh1te. Including the bit about the Masser too.

So if your clients see you pull up in a 9 year old Merc they'll drop their pants and let you ride them but if you're in a courtesy car the company will go bankrupt?

Calm down Patrick Bateman and go and order yourself some shiny new business cards as a reward for making it to the end of the week.

The fact is the W219 wasnt face-lifted until 2010, so difficult to determine whether the car is 2005 or 2010.

I wont get into a d**k measuring contest. I do love when the band wagon gets going, theres no stopping it with piggy back rides.

So Chris, please could you tell us what the fault was/is? It would be nice to know in case anyone else has similar issues.

This forum, bar one or two genuine posters offers little meaningful assistance or opinion.

After reading several posts in the thread, it made me cringe considering that I am being doubted on many fronts. In actual fact, in the past and recently regarding my CLS, the doubters have been put to bed because they are unable to stomach my persistence to prove a case.

I look forward to giving the update on the car and taking delivery of my Ghibli, I just hope the stupidity of some posters is as ridiculous as I imagine it to be.

My threads are intended firstly to assist myself and secondly others. I will cease from posting here as its counter-productive, thus spoiling others from learning about similar issues. As stated for the doubters, while I wont expect an apology, as I know your likely too childish to be an adult, I would like you to express your thanks for my return.

PS: Cease, I blame the tablet ironically.

You are frankly being rather petulant and disingenuous here.

Of course the dealer knows how old you car is!

The registration number (even if a private plate) tells them as this will cross reference with the VIN number to give them a build date as this is needed to order the correct parts etc!

As for the forum and members; all initially gave you good, well reasoned advice.

You have alluded to something MB "missed" during an inspection, something that, according to you, will now incur a cost to you but despite several members asking for clarification from you so they could, in the spirit of the forum, give you more appropriate opinions you have steadfastly refused to provide this.

Your expectations are just unrealistic in terms of the car you feel should be supplied but again, as has been pointed out, a discussion with the dealer may well have sorted this some time ago.

If you choose to cease posting here (how do you then intend to "update" us on the Ghibli?) that is your choice but just reinforces the rather petulant approach you have taken so far when good and genuine advice is ignored if does not fit with the preconception you seem to hold of how the owner of a 9 year old plus CLS should be treated.

I would suggest that you go back, read the first few responses and try to see things in context, perhaps from the dealers perspective as well.

Anyway, good luck and good evening!

I look forward to giving the update on the car and taking delivery of my Ghibli,

Now, I'd love to hear about the Masser, not the Fiat courtesy car, just the Maaser. :thumb:

Being of an older generation I can remember the time when you took your car in and then caught the bus home. Courtesy cars are a modern luxury. I know expectations these days are greater but if it starts has some seats and gets you from a-b is anything more required. I was given an older model C Class when my car was last serviced, quite a nice drive to be honest, and it got me around. If I want a Rolls as a temporary replacement then I daresay the servicing cost would increase, I'll take less expensive and be thankful for a set of working wheels thank you.

When I were a Lad, all they give you were Hoop and stick and a slice o' Hovis to keep you going on yer 40 mile walk in rain...

One of the ways Nissan made the Qashqai such a success was giving them as courtesy cars for Micro owners coming for service. I can see a business case for giving courtesy similar cars to owners coming in for service to promote the new vehicles. Although this is only really suitable to showcase new models.

I didn't quite get that?
