I know there are many threads, but I want to make sure i get the right phone before I spend money. I have never used hands free, I still pull over and answer my mobile, honest officer.

My 2006 C320cdi has Comand APS, an MB cradle in the armrest, a sharks fin aerial, a mike for handsfree and an aftermarket cradle for a Blackberry 8100.

Comand APS can connect to my Sony Ericsson W705 using Bluetooth, but I'm damned if I can use it via the car hands free, I think it just sees it as a music source.

This is the Blackberry cradle:

If I buy a 8100 on Fleabay, can I use my generic Vodafone SIM card, and will I be able to use the Comand functions? It connects via bluetooth again, but is wired in.

This is the cradle:

Part number is a171 820 04 51. google brings up posts in German, I think it is the Nokia cradle mentioned HERE, can anyone confirm this.
Fleabay sell used 6150's for around £20, if I get one I could use my existing sim card and use the steering wheel buttons and dash display, yes? To me this looks like the best option.

The aftermarket cradle just needs removing.

The nokia armrest cradle needs the rubber button pressing to allow removal.

Buy the proper MB cradle / bluetooth cradle from ebay for your phone.. then you have a nice easy solution that also charges your current handset.

Comand bluetooth is not for phone connection.. (frankly it is not for anything on that generation of comand...) only the comand in the W204 is for HFP.

My Sony W705 doesnt seem to be common enough to have a MB cradle. I could use the bluetooth cradle, though it seems dear, will I have control over the phone with this using the buttons on the wheel?

you can usually get the BT cradles on ebay for circa £100 - yes you can use the buttons. the advantage of the BT one is you can change phone whenever you like.

The £20 cheapskate option is still to buy an old Nokia and put my simcard in, this ad is the same part number as what Ive got, confirming its the Nokia one. The item title is misleading. Mercedes-Benz Bluetooth Cradle for Nokia 6310i

Put a viseeo cradle in and connect to it via Bluetooth and you should have full operation of all the cars phone buttons + address transfer to the command screen

I have a Viseeo MB2 in my car, it works perfect and you leave the phone in your pocket.:thumb:
