Crystal headlights for a W202

LOL! Had me fooled for a minute there ! They look good - but not without the matching indicators 'eh ;) Maybe you could get the Adobe boys to add those as well :)

S.

mmm - those Adobe boys can do a pretty good job sometimes :D

Looks good ;)

Hi Khz, I will take pic or 2 in the morning as i have only just finished respraying the whole car and have not had a chance to take any pics of the finished car yet. It took 2 weeks to respray and when i put the old headlamps in it really let the car down so i saw the crystals on ebay.com sent the dude an email and he sold me a pair for $275 inc postage.I then put the sport indicators next to them and they looked pants as well! back to ebay.co.uk and got me a pair of crystals for £25.00 put together with a new style grille and a spanking new bonnet star, even 203 owners give it a second look! :D

I must say, very nice! - Get yourself some clear orange bulbs though :)

Thanks for putting the pics on KHZ, I reckon a set of chrome bulbs to!
Boycie

What does the beam pattern look like? Just wondering if it's actually road legal!

They are looking really sweet and i might have to add some
to my EVER GROWING LIST, but ya gotta have the "sparkley"
indicators to match though, then a set of FRESH bulbs.

You might wanna blank the number plate out!
ALSO.... they were some HUGE pictures "killerhetz"

Hi Dudes, They are intended for use on the "otherside" shall we say but nobody has flashed at me yet! and when i think of the number of these fancy projector headlamps that blind me when they are coming the other way which are legal who gives a s**t, they are ajusted away from oncoming traffic and have standard bulbs which i want to change soon.As for the number plates i hope you have noticed the www.mbclub.co.uk in the middle.
boycie :D (and i have kept the original lamps for the m.o.t)

they look a damn sight better than I thought they would.

My only issue is whether in 4 months time they will begin to mist up and require re-sealing.

Wondering if you could get away with running Xenon projectors in these.

I have been toying with clear projector lights for my 210 but have been put off due to critisism of the output light.
Standard 210 lights are the worst lights I have driven behind but I cant be bothered to change if the new ones are no better.

Some guys actually buy the lights then refit BMW X5 Xenon projectors because they are top quality.

I would probably go for using W211 halogen projectors as unregulated Xenons are going to be made illegal soon.

My suspision is that the parabolic lights are actually better than projector lights as there is no lens for the light to pass through.

What is the quality of light output and is the make Depo?

If anyone is interested I might place an order with Depo but it is min quantity of 100 sets.

Hi

Totally agree about the standard 210 lights, with the dark evenings upon us once again i was thinking of some kind of upgrade, keep me posted what you do or intend to do.

211 halogen projectors are pretty cack. 203 frosted glass lights are really bright whatever they did to them :)

I thought it was only me with poor lights on my 300TD, I bought some new glasses without tints to try to see better at night time !! and also some 100 watt bulbs which I have not yet fitted as I have no wiring diagram and am concerned about overloading the wiring. I was considering just buying new light units or a Xenon upgrade so I am very receptive to any improvementto my headlight output.

xenons are the way to go, since upgrading to mine, I dont think id buy a car without them! or if i did, i`d upgrade.

i have non projector D2R xenons in mine, with the correct xenon housings, and they are the nuts, I was also thinking of converting the fogs to xenon as the C36 has projector fogs, but ive been told the yellow light from the halogen is better than xenon light in fog and snow, so i might give it a miss.

Tell me about it... they were good for standard Halogens and the fog lamps were even brighter. The newer clear foglamps on W203 cars with bi/xenon and facelift are no way near as bright as the frosted ones...
