Cupholder for Older Models W124, W126 etc

None of my cars have cup holders and it annoys me on a long trip as I like to sip on coffee.
I tried many of the ebay offerings, cup holders that clip on the transmission tunnel, some that clip on the vents... all total rubbish.

Anyway, I noticed a lot of american W124's, W126's etc seem to have cup holders on the door card as standard.
Couldnt find any Mercedes option for this and then found that most american dealers added these from new..

Anyway, if anyone wants a proper "mercedes" quality cup holder then look no further

Do not go for the cheaper imitations, they are cheaply made.. These are properly done with a leather(ette) finish to match the door card.

Got some for the 500E already and ordered another set for the SEC today.

I was following a driver in an Jaguar XK the other day and I held back as it was moving rather erratically, weaving in the outside lane for a while before sharply moving across into mine as we approached a junction. This type of driving continued until we joined the A40 and hit stop-start traffic. As I pulled alongside, I was expecting to find that the driver had a phone clamped to her ear, but I was wrong: she was holding a large takeaway coffee.

Happy to say that none of my cars has cupholders.

Our local petrol station sells bloody hot coffee in tall paper mugs.

Lots of people stock up on coffee as they pick up their newspapers in the morning. Dangerous, dangerous situation. Drinking and driving should be banned!

these look good and something I have thought about a fair bit before, and I remember a previous post on it about the transmission tunnel ones..... i never got round to buying one but now i'm doing the double-din media system fit and the rear headrests, this may be a good mod to make to the 124 estate.... all round but could get expensive!

Have you got a photo of it installed in the 124?

Where on the doorcard have you positioned it?

also, is there any real difference between your $30 one and this one?

not all W202's have airbags in the side (only facelift i think).... no 124 has side airbags.

I plan to fit this cupholder where my old phone holder holes are i think.

that cupholder makes me feel sick! no offence but that looks so 'off'! I much prefer the sleek folding one i had in my old w202 that pops out of the compartment in the centre console and swings out to make room for 2 cups/cans.

lol... some OTT responses.. Coffee keeps me awake, i drive a lot better with coffee.. a sip every few minutes at the lights or in a jam never killed anyone...

Anyway, heres a pic.

SS: The quality of this feels very good, I saw the cheap ones but even from the pics they look cheap... I wouldnt mount it on my E500 if I didnt think it would last as long as the car.

Those are perfect but nowhere for them in any older model... believe me I have tried.

I wish they did the legit cup holder in RHD version, I have never managed to find any for sale, only the LHD which just gets in the way.
