Daimler UK recall - fire risk

Unfortunately looks like the UK will have a significant number of recalls.

Hi,
It's mainly the 2 and 3 litre petrol models that are affected - no diesels.

Now one of the lead items on the BBC News this morning.

The Autocar article reads that its only a problem when attempting to start the car repeatedly i.e the car fails to start the first time.
Just wondering if this would also be affected by start/stop starting of the engine?

Reading the Autocar report, I see it says Mercedes will notify owners if their car is affected.
Will this still be the case if the car is on the second owner and bought outside of the dealership?

Hopefully it's a quick fix then...

Apparently a simple upgraded fuse required?

It's a problem because MB cars will continue to try and start even though the driver releases the key/button

From the document M-B lodged in the USA, it would appear that the engine has to be unable to turn over by, for example, being full of water because the clown of a driver decided it was OK to go wading in it. So start/stop shouldn't be a problem.
