Just debadged my S211 E320 CDI - despite being nearly 7 years old, no sign of paint discolouration where the badges have been all this time - all it took was 5 minutes with some T-cut and all is good. I've debadged it in prep for a stage 1 remap at PCS - booked in for next week :)

Dead easy with just dental floss and a hairdryer :)

I like the clean lines of a debadged car but curious as to how doing so prepares the car for a remap?

Go even better with cleaner exhaust tips ;) Looks ace btw

I keep thinking of de badging the E but can't make my mind up..

It's obviously totally personal, but I like to de-badge dark coloured cars as the badges stand out much more than they do against silver paint.

The 270 was surely a 2.7L 5-cyl? And I think the only 350 S211 was a petrol 3.5L?

my bad on the 270 - and on the 350 I was thinking of the the 212 350cdi. I guess the point is moot, I bet more MB model numbers DON'T reflect the actual engine capacity than DO :)

Probably more effective on a darker car, but I like the cleaner rear-end even on silver. It's all reversible anyway - so nothing really to lose except a few quid for new letters/numbers or double sided foam tape (if you're going to reuse the original letters/numbers).

very nice

WD40 allows you to get under the sticky stuff and not scratch the paint, hairdryer method is great as well, however sometimes heating up the sticky stuff makes it worse,

got to ask

what did you do with your badges

Mine are now the front cover of my service folder :) :) :)
