Deep cleaning interior plastics

many years ago I watched a programme on tv about cleaning floors.
the cleaning contractors said that it wasn't just the product but the amount of time the product was allowed to do it's work. they used to put down the cleaning mixture onto the floor surface and leave it to attack the dirt. later they removed it and gave the floor a second wash with water. the point being that stuff takes time to work well. anything wiped on and off quickly will not do the job so well.

1001 cleaner diluted 5:1 and a nail brush, use it all the time

Diluted traffic film remover and a nail brush will shift it....

yes, that's the stuff will clean anything, used it once on an interior that a trader was going to condemn, result amazing.

Steam cleaner, surfex HD and a horse hair brush should do the trick;)

Wet wipes and baby Wipes won't go any where near this already tried. thanks.

SPX is getting me some G101 so I'll have a go with that I think :thumb:

It's magic stuff.. Just look out for the up-sell - SPX can't help himelf:D

PS- Lee - I'll give you a ring re LR stuff next week. Been away until today.

Be careful with TFR , I once used some on my red steering wheel to try and remove some 'hand dirt' that had built up.

First wipe and the cloth was pink , didn't do a second !

Engine Cleaner mixed 10:1 usually gets rid of everything and leaves a nice matte 'like new' finish.

Any degreaser will do a good job really, just be careful on the strength.

Hi there...on plastics use cif cream gently with a nailbrush in the grain. Wipe off residue with a clean dry microfibre cloth. This method can be used on the leather too, provided that you are gentle and remember to re moisturise the leather with a good feeder afterwards.
I have used this method on concours winning cars..amazing results!

I wonder if a previous owner/dealer has sprayed a cockpit shine or laquer over the dirt? I had something like that done on my Cl...I ended up having to pick it all off!! Nightmare!..WD 40 as mentioned in the previous post could be a good idea...

WD40 should do the trick with a microfibe cloth, one to clean and one to work the solution in. I used this to clean my ford before buying a Merc came up a treat.

Aerospace 303 plastic cleaner / protector works for me.

Any update on your progress?
