Yesterday i took my c270 2001 in for a service B they found the following.
1. Small diesel leak on fuel lines £121.80
2.rear prop couplings need replacing £191.52
3.o/s/r coil spring broken. £235.47

I have put parts and labour prices for each.I have asked my own mechaic to carryout the work are the prop couplings hard to fix or are ther easy.
Also where do you think the leak on the diesel line will be.
Should i chang both spring or just one and do they have to be genuine or third party will do.
Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks

dont know too much about this, but i had a fuel leak on my W124 and it was just a simple O-ring replacement.

just have a look where its leaking and you could probably get a replacement o-ring or even pipe for a tenner and fit it yourself.

just a thought.... may be something else though

Strictly speaking you should replace springs in pairs but if you are going to replace only the broken one then definately go for 'genuine' as it will be 'matched' more closely to the other original one.

If you decide to replace both springs then use either genuine or aftermarket, the choice is yours.
