Does anyone know, is there a shutter type mechanism on digital cameras? My camera starts up ok, full menu functions but does not take pictures and the screen is black with a little light as though it is on, if that makes sense. If I put a card with pictures on into the camera, I can view the pictures. Took it to my local menders who sent it to Pentax and they wanted well over £100 to fix it. Any clues?

New Camera time??

There is a leaf type shutter. Unless you are very attached to your camera. Best to buy a new one e.g. Canon A510 3Megapixel £116 from DABS. Then you have a new camera with a warranty for not much more money. Sony and Canon come tops in the reliability surveys. And think of the hours of pleasure getting to know the new menu systems
