Does anyone regret selling a car?

The C70 was a disappointing car. Did you have the problem where the body flexed and the doors fouled the rear quarter panels? We actually had two, Volvo swapped the first one as it had so many faults.
No, the problems were with the dreaded ‘limp mode’, and the D3 engine. Turbo, EGR, DPF, complete replace/reboot (?) of the software, plus injectors, etc etc. The only roof/body problem I had was the ‘yellow button’ to lift the roof while in the boot stopped working.

TBH, I’d never liked Volvos, but it was the only metal roof convertible that had 4 full adult-sized seats with legroom - once you got in the rears!!

Lovely car, though, apart from the reliability. Phil is correct, it was the 2nd generation, facelift 5 cyl diesel

Ours were also second generation but petrol, the first manual, the second automatic - boy was it thirsty!

I sold my CLK320 CAB recently and whilst I love driving the VXR, I really did enjoy the CLK. As the new owner drover her away I was watching her drive away for the last time and it really felt like a loss
You no longer have a Mercedes?!

Planning to get back into one soon?

I had a 2nd gen one, I know the first had terrible scuttle shake. But saying that I could still feel the chassis flex. In fact there was a one off happening where the driver's door opened whilst going round a roundabout, which was a little alarming, but that was cured by lubricating the door lock mechanism, a common thing apparently. It was basically a Ford Focus underneath because Volvo were under Ford's tenure at the time. But other than that it was a nice car, if a bit maintenance needy, the auto gearbox wasn't great (after Mercedes autos you get spoilt ;)) but it was a D5, a 2.4 litre 5 cylinder turbo-diesel with 185 bhp, so was just about adequate whilst being pretty economical & it even sounded nice for a diesel when wound on. Baxlin had the facelift version of the 2nd gen iirc, again with the 5 cylinder TD.
Hi Phil ,
I have a feeling that these cars where assembled in Italy !

Apparently it was built by Pininfarina Sverige AB, a joint venture between Pininfarina and Volvo (probably where you're getting the Italian bit from) but they were built in Sweden.

I regret selling my 280GEL G wagen :( Long time ago now, purchased from MB, had a replacement short engine foc when I said it was using a bit of oil, and sold it back to MB and made a small profit. It would now be worth at least twice what I sold it for.

My RS60 Spyder still is the best thing I ever bought… Fast, fun, practical, awesome handling, beautiful to drive, and epic sounding. Never let me down in 6 years and 50k miles. Would be worth £5k more if I hadn’t sold it too :/

Not planning on getting another, quite happy with my VXR 325hp :) I will alway love the CLK, wasnt the fastest car around at 218hp but it was always a pleasure to drive

The two cars I regret selling are the S600 and one of my e46 M3's.

I thought I was bored of the S600 but the moment I sold it, I felt like I made a mistake. I might buy another one if I ever find a low mileage mystic brown or mystic blue S600 - S65AMG

This e46 M3 was a very rare car, 1 out of 24 world wide in this colour combo [ Le mans blue/White leather ] and I done a full restoration. It wasn't even for sale but a friend asked and I said yes thinking he wouldn't buy it :wallbash:

My metallic blue Corrado16V bought new in 1991 and swopped for a Golf VR6 three years later, regretted it even more when Car SOS recently revived one on their show.

My CLK C200K soft top 2009, cream leather (my first Merc), a bit sedate but a lovely drive, solid build quality and a real looker. Drove 1000's of miles in France, Gorge de Verdon, Monaco and Pyrenees, never let us down, it used to eat rear tyres though (5k).
Happy memories.
Then, grand kids, now drive a C Class estate diesel!!
Checked it's MOT record online the other day. Big mistake, new owners are mistreating it badly.

I don't think I regret selling any of my cars. I've either sold them because I no longer wanted them or the time was right to move them on.
The lack of regret was always because whatever car I sold, it was replaced with a better one.

I wish I had kept my W202 C250 TurboDiesel Sport. It had the super rare 2 seat rear seat, very impractical however very cool. I had to sell before the rust made it worthless, wish I had a garage to store it in! Xenon's, cruise control, parking sensors, A/C all on an old diesel.

Should never have sold my A3 Audi cabriolet. Was as enjoyable as the company Audi A4 except the roof was fixed! Two quality well built cars, compared to my existing & previous crap Mercedes. Now actively seeking to return to an Audi.

Sold an Audi S6 last year and bought a Porsche Taycan. (actually we bought two through the business - it's a tax thing).

You can read here what happened to the Taycan(s) - which will be sold as soon as they are back (along with my business partners). Fortunately it seems they are worth more than we paid for them. It was my first and will be my last Porsche.

Should never have sold the Audi. I really liked that car and I was seduced into the aura of Porsche ownership, which just sucked unfortunately.

That is a real tale of woe.
Can't say I blame you for wanting rid of the Taycan.

I had 2 of these GT5`s back in the day. Only sold it as little one appeared & we needed an estate. 12 years of reliable burbly service.
