There are many rallys out there which invlove a £100 car/shed driven 2000 miles to some far off country.

Has anyone done it?

Does anyone fancy doing it?

I really want to do one one day in a 124 estate.

Maybe we could have a forum sponsored car?

Forum sponsored car is a great idea (IMHO)

I did the Plymouth to Banjul challange with a couple of mates 3 years ago, altogether roughly 4000 miles. The cars were then auctioned off for the local kids charites. Raised £3000 for our local hospital at home.:)

We drove an Audi 100 estate brought for £100 and an old 124 Estate that was £150, Both had to be left hand drives.

Drove through France, Spain, Morrocco, Senegal and finished in Gambia plus spent 4 days in the desert :D (the best days) in total it took 22 days to complete.

Def recommend doing it :bannana: :bannana: :bannana:

You started off saying £100 cars, but youve already blown the budget, getting all flash looking at £600 cars.

Thats more like it £0.01.

And its got a towbar!!!!!

What about a Lada Riva Cossack?

:D Up or Down the road, who cares.

I think that would be the car for your trip to where ever it is. :D

I'd be up for it

Anyone know anyone who knows anything about W124 estates?

Tell you what, I think it's a great Idea.
And it would be great if it could be plastered with MBCLUB UK all over it.
Wouldnt it be great that at the end of it, the car can be auctioned for charity.

Infact I'll start the ball rolling by donating £10.00 towards purchasing the car.

Anyone else care to join?

Best Regards,

Alex.

I go ou to do a bit of work in Banjul regularly - lovely place, nice people - the drive sounds like a good idea - people there always wanting cars, especially old mercedes / toyota.

It's a hard run - once out of europe the roads deteriorate rapidly!

Yep, in principle, I'd fancy that ...

I have started somthing now havent I.

I can do any sort of trip until the business is properly up and running. Maybe next year.
