DVLA Data Check

You can also check through the RAC site, but may need to be a member to access the service.

No just log straight in.

just gave the RAC site a try, its simple yet pleasing :) entered my reg and the details were right on the ball. nice little reference tool ;)

RAC version is nearly always wrong

:) We have certainly learnt our lesson the hard way. A member's hit and run? You can also cross reference anything with the AA site.

Best post the link before Plodd makes me feel guilty :) (Blooming hairdresser)

'AA' one not working at present. The RAC one is, and all looks good.

Thanks Guys.....
:)

RAC shows wrong data for both our cars (both 05 Mercs). My E350 is shown as an E320, and wife's A150 doesn't show Manuf/Model data at all.

According to the RAC link my reg (private plate) is still assigned to my old car, not my current car, which means its at least 12 months out of date.

RAC site = Not really worth relying on IMHO.

The sites are indeed terribly inaccurate. Out of the two I find the AA slightly the better regarding accuracy, but the RAC one gives more detail. The DVLA likes to think it is extremely accurate, BUT even that one is terribly out of date.

I checked the AA one before posting the link and it worked. I have just used it again and its still working. It could be that you were unlucky and it decided to go down just when you used it.

Just put in the reg no and press return, do not put anything else in any other box.

Good luck

AA Data
Vehicle make MERCEDES CARS
Model COMPACT E

:D Since when has a E class been compact ?

This is all the RAC came up with for mine. No make or model:

Manufacturer
Model
Body type 4 DOOR SALOON
Colour SILVER
Fuel type PETROL
Date manufactured 31 December 1999
Number of previous owners 3
Last owner change 28 June 2004

RAC has date of manufacture for mine as 31-12-97, which is interesting as it was first registered on 05-12-97 :D

With something like that, it is confusing because they get the information from somewhere??? Does it come from DVLA? What does your V5 say?

Definitely weird.

I would accept completely wrong details and this can and certainly does happen for a variety of reasons.

I certainly did NOT say either was accurate :)

Experience (very hard earned) has shown the AA site to be 'less inaccurate' :) than its opposition.

In fairness the RAC site got both my vehicles spot on, but I have owned them from new, and most important, for a number of years.

Don't forget I am saying both sites are NOT renowned for their accuracy.

Manufacturer MERCEDES

Model SPRINTER 213 CDI MWB

Body type VAN - SIDE WINDOWS

Colour RED Fuel type HEAVY OIL

Date manufactured 11 July 2002

Number of previous owners

The details on mine are fine, apart from the date of manufacture given, which is actually the date of first registration.

Slightly OT I know but it amuses me that the fuel type for your van (and my car) is described as heavy oil. I've known some boilers and even some marine diesels that ran on heavy oil but it would be a struggle to get it through the fuel filler of a road vehicle, never mind the injectors!
