Dynamic front seats

Can anyone give me a clue how these seats are supposed to work.
I have a 2004 S211 with front dynamic seats not massage but with a "pulse"
On the display in speedo i can set both seats to position 1 or 2 via the menu system although not sure what the difference is?
Currently I have both set on position 2.
When going round roundabouts and corners the sides on the drivers seat grip you.
The passenger seat sometimes does this too which is great but it does not always work!
There is a press button on the front of the control unit on each seat (slightly out of view unless stopped) which when pressed on the drivers side shows on the dash (spedo) as either on or off, but the passenger one does not show up on the dash (spedo).
I have read the manual but still cannor fathom it out.
Can anyone please list on a step by step process how these work properly etc.

As far as i know, only the drivers one flags on the dash, and you have to make sure the red light comes on on the underseat seat buttons to activate pulse/grip etc. It won't stay on if nobody is sat on it.
