E Class W211 keyless go wont lock !!

I have the E55 W211 with keyless entry / go and it has just developed a fault with the drivers door lock ! Problem being it wont lock or open by keyless go system . This is only relevant on the drivers side door . If I use any other door or use the remote key fob it will lock as normal .

Question is .....is it an easy fix or expensive to replace ?

Assuming it has the little square rubber button in the handle, the problem is 90% likely to be water ingress to the handle itself.

Cannot repair - needs new handle - about £175 from (painful, personal) memory on my SL

Typically a new handle is required - it's usually the driver's door that goes.

They are body coloured though, if you start looking round for one.

thanks lads ......now that you mentioned it about water ingress it did start playing up after jet washing car .......blooody hell .

Just to revive this thread, i seem to have exact same issue on drivers door of my CLK. I assume the £175 quoted above is for a new handle un painted...?

I have not priced it from mb as yet going to wait and live with it . Let us know if you get it and how much they charged fitting ?

If its mega money i will probably just live with it, but will be getting a price to see...
