E220 CDI W212 - Tyres

Hello All,

This is my first post.

My rear 2 tyres definitely need replacing, this is my first time replacing a tyre on my E220 (W212) so I wondered if anyone could make a suggestion regarding which tyres I should buy.

The size I currently have is 225/55/R16.

The best I have found in researching which tyres is should use are: Michelin Primacy HP 99W MO XL. Would this be a suitable tyre? Or does anyone recommend a different brand?

You have plenty of MB choices in that size...

Personally in that size, I'd put either Goodyear F1 AS2's or Efficient Grip Performance. Continental's are very good too, but don't wear as well. Other than that you are choosing on brand & performance vs price.

Welcome to the forum.

I had Toyo's on and they were fine but I have just had to replace all 4 tyres! Long story.

I'm now running Continental S3's.

I got in the car the day after swooping them and thought "eh". There was a very noticeable difference in road noise. Quieter by far!! It really surprised me.

These are also what MB would recommend as tyre fitments.

I've spent the last few months on a huge learning curve learning about tyres!!
