The battery in my 2010 E250CDI coupe will not hold a charge for more than about a week and it can loose it extremely rapidly after I have washed the car. Yes, I have checked the windscreen drain channels and they are all clean and unobstructed. I live in France and I'm afraid my MB dealership in Bordeaux is next to useless. They have tried several times since February to trace the fault but without success - resorting to changing the alternator, automatic lighting module and radiator fan on the basis of guesswork! Apparently the rad. fan started on its own accord in their compound during a rainstorm so they just changed the fan (at great expense) but without being able to say what triggered it in the first place. But water or dampness does seem to be a possible contributor.
What can I do myself? I do have the time to spend hours checking fuses etc., if someone could tell me where to start and what equipment I should get.
I have seen a couple of gadgets on e-Bay but which would be the best to use? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
