E320 cdi 03

Thought as much but wanted to here from somebody else, my scoobs been remaped and it's runnng a hybrid TD04 plus some other mods, at the mo it's making 316-301. But mpg ain't really good 13-16. So my thinking is get a quick CDI merc and keep the scoob as a weekend toy.

If it were me I'd look for an E220 or C220 cdi and keep the costs down, also then makes the scooby feel quicker...

No deff want the 320 over the 220, the 220 is just 2 slow i would want to get rid after a week.

I'm I right in saying the 220bhp starts from 2006 if not what plate did it start on. Whats the diff in the w210 and the w211 think I got that right, soz for these noobie questions but I don't have much of a clue about the mercs at the min.

w210 is the old old E class, 96-2002 iirc
w211 is the old e class 2002-2009

W211 is what you want if your money can stretch to it.

Was looking at an 03 or 53 just wanted to make sure it was w211 220bhp version.

Cheers ***

Yes Mercedes can do this on the new CDi's with the 3.0 V6, they fit a Brabus chip which pushes the car from 220bhp to 275bhp and 590nm torque but mine has been done by West-Tuning!

I know a friend with a CDi which has over 280bhp and it's the 3.2L in-line 6 model.

I was told the re-map is undetectable but it's better to be safe than sorry, my premium went up by £114 a year!

What sort of price would it be to re-map to 280 BHP? :)

Cost him at the time £600 I think, but different cars different figures and it all depends what the car pushes out as standard.

Normally on a 320 CDi I was told to expect between 40-50bhp gain and about the same with torque!

It is on an 03 or 53 it would have 204bhp (in line 6). The V6 with 220bhp starts from 2006 as you said.

Mine is a 2004 and it's got the 3.2 in-line 6 and pushed out 219bhp as standard, think you won't know intill you test the car on the rr.

220bhp 3.0 V6 version starts from 2005 55 reg+

Ah, right! Thanks :o

So manufacturer figure say 204bhp, but in reality when tested yours was 219bhp?

Looks like i over looked the different models, dint want to spend as much as the V6 version. So looks like the inline 6 is will be just hope after a remap this will fit the bill, what is abit baffling is the inline 6 204bhp 0-60 of 7.7 and the V6 220 0-60 of 6.6 there must be some other difference as 16 bhp dont take a second off. Does this mean the V6 is a far better car then the inline 6.
Cheers again guys you all been helpful

I think the V6 has a seven-speed gearbox, while the inline 6 has a five-speed.

Could someone confirm or correct this? This might make the difference in acceleration.

I think that these numbers are at the crank not the wheels, the inline 6 was 204 BHP and that in reality would translate into 160 - 170 BHP max at the wheels. Transmission and other ancilleries drain anything from 30 - 50 BHP. Less on motorcycles but still 20 - 30 BHP. A good remap would make 240 -250 BHP so aprok 200 at the wheels. Anyone know different?

That's correct:thumb: Some cars come less than the manufacture figures and some come with more, think it all depends on the cars service history, type of feul you use etc..

Does any body no the 0-60 times on both inline 6 and V6 models after remaped, i use this on the scoob Car Stats - Calculator and it works pritty well come back as 0-60 on the scoob as 5.41 but with a G meter i got 5.3 so .1 is a good guide.
Tried it with the merc and it comes up duff, prob due to the gears but want to no a ruff idea.

I managed 6.1secs on some device my friend has.

That's with a passanger in the car!
