E430 W210 Steering rack

Hi Chaps, i been after a recon steering rack for my E430 but i come a cropper as the place i've contacted said there are x2 different types????

he said something about one has a brass bit? or something and the other has a pinion something? trying to retrieve the message but my answer phone is playing up.

does anyone know???

Sorry, just got message now he said one has a sensor on it and one does not? how do i know if mine has a sensor without taking it off? i want to get the rack now but wasnt going to get it done till next week.

Most E430 have speed sensitive steering so they will have a sensor. What is the chassis number and I will look it up.

If you need a refurbished steering rack I can get top quality racks for very decent money

Chassis number: WDB2100702A622011 is that all you need BlackC55?

It does look like it has speed sensitive steering but EPC is unclear.

i've ordered a reconditioned rack from driveshafts uk. they do a exchange service on most mercs if anyone is interested. plus a 12months warranty.

price was pretty good too.

just thought i'd mention this.

i need someones help!!! the rack i got has a bolt on sensor and the rack off my car is built in??????????????? i called MB southend they have nothing on the sensor? the guy didnt really sem that bothered either!

i can send mine to be refurbed but this sensor should be a ready part if its a bolt on???
