E55 in for its B service tommorrow

Just reading through this thread and chocking on my malteser!!!
We charge 275 Inc vat for B service on a 55k. That includes mobil 1 oil and genuine oil filter. Id have thrown the pollen in for nothing as I would have to remove it to check the additional battery. Incredible!!!!!!

Yeah, but main dealers seem to like to multiply the cost of everything by 5.5 for E55s!

£275 is half my annual service on my previous Saab 9-5 Aero.

That's when people also forget that the first owners of these cars probably paid close to £60,000 for the cars and servicing was all relative.

Now they are £10K to £15K (fiesta money) but NOT fiesta servicing price.

At the end of the day you can carry 4 adults in comfort while in the real world as quick and more usable than most supercars !!

Realistically I would think most AMG owners do few miles? less than the average per year? factor in your losing little now on the cars its probably not 'too' bad to run for what returns you get in the smile factor :)

^ Agree, I'm often tempted to go for a 55 as I'm lucky if I do 5,000 miles a year in mine.

Yeah, but let's be honest, they don't need to be far off Fiesta servicing money do they...

Alf230 Who has an AMG55 just hit 55 posts with that one. Neat Sir, very neat.

JohnE it's more if anything goes wrong that I guess the big bills appear?

A standard E class would be pricey, I would guess a 55 is another level :)

I do around 5k a year also in mine but couldn't get my head round the 20mpg average nowadays been there done that...I'm happier seeing over 40mpg and not having to fill up for 700 miles :)

If you wait a few years you can pick up one of the new blue effieciency v8's for sensible money & they return close to 30mpg combined-thats having your cake & eating it:D

OK its back!
total bill,
B service + pollen filter + brake fluid change + discounts
£450 all in

I thought that was pretty reasonable as remember you also get
- Mobilio cover until the next service, which can be up to 2 years
- Dealer stamp on service book to keep the full mb service history, not that it means anything nowadays.

all in all i cant complain and yes i know i could have got it done cheaper at an indi`s, but add the fuel to get there and the saving of the cost of breakdown cover for a year, its covered the extra.

they also have put a warranty claim in for drivers side dynamic switch pack and the dynamic seat pump which it will have to be re-booked in for, but claim logged so will not cost me anything even if it goes in after warranty expires.

Ahh, I thought you meant regular servicing costs.

Yes, I'd rather have a Fiesta if something goes bang... :D

My inde told me that standard bits were fine - it's anything with an AMG stamped on it that's the cash cow. Sounds a bit like a Nissan that - cash cow.

The only issue with the new Bluemotion stuff is by the time we get a hold of it - petrol will be £13.10 a litre...

B service time again

main dealer, own oil.

£230 inc vat....

that also covers me with mobilio till the next one which can be up to 2 years!

had to post this up after seeing the £4K service cost on the other thread!
