E63 - buying advice

Hi all,

need to get rid of my cr*p BMW, and get a decent car.

I've decided on an E63 (has an e before, but not the 63).

Looking at 2014 on, but is there anything specific i need to know when i look?

What options are most likely to be desirable when i sell it on?

?? What BMW did you have?? Do you feel the E class interior is on par with the BMW??

Driver Assist is nice - being able to drive in traffic, hands off and feet off, is pleasant in meandering jams

It also includes collision avoidance and other star wars stuff...

Dynamic Multi Contour seats too (wot i don't ave) .

Lots of discussion and good advice in this thread.

Everyone has their favourite "must have" options, so it's hard to be specific, but in my experience the rare and desirable options are the Driving Assistance Package (Distronic, etc.) and Dynamic Multi-Contour seats.

Standard facelift cars do not have an LSD unless it was optioned, so budget around £1,350 for a Quaife as the car is (relatively speaking) pants to drive with an open diff.

The interior is ok, it's a lovely looking car, but not an E63.

The avantgarde/elegance/classic specs were reserved for the far older W210 E class. The avantgarde spec is the more sporty with stiffened and lower suspension.

Wot AMGeed said. It appears on some ads, but it's a misnomer for the W212 E63.

c200_k of this parish just ditched a V12 760L for his second E63 Biturbo. You may wish to enquire of him regarding his recent buying experiences?

Just a quick update.

After much searching found an E63 with the driver assistance pack, thanks for that tip. ;-)

Anyway, drove it this morning, bought it, get it next week.

Quite excited.
