ECU location W209 230K

I have removed MAF to check make but I cant see anything on there except a part number and a flow direction. On the one side it says Durchfluss (direction) with an arrow and a number RF 280 217 114 and on the other a number >PBT-GF30< Any help would be appreciated.

no i'll give it a go now and reply later Thanks Lee.

Just took the car out for a 10 mile run around the lanes. It didnt start very well and stalled once or twice at junctions 1st of all, after a couple of minutes it ran quite well. I couldnt feel the miss but the car was a little sluggish and some on the changes were erratic. However, it did seem to run better and the fuel consumption according to the trip computer was an improvement. Any thoughts.

Then I would say get a Bosch MAF from Bosch, they are ½ the price of MB
and send your other one back to who ever sold it to you.

Any Bosch service center has them, if the one that you have is not marked Bosch, then it will not be a Bosch.

Its alway hard telling people to go and buy something just in case its not that

will driving it with the MAF unplugged do any damage or would it be OK until the new one arrives.

with it unplugged is it usual to be sluggish at top end. the gear shift seems to have rectified but the idle isnt great especially from higher revs to idle.

oh good I have just contacted my nearest Bosch service centre and have been quoted £220 plus vat. This seems excessive!!!

Thanks to all

Well as I was a bit weary about forking out £220 + vat for a new MAF as I had changed the faulty one for an aftermarket bit, I hedged my bets and bought a 2nd hand Bosch MAF from Dronsfield. It arrived this morning for £99 inc VAT and delivery. Fitted it straight away.

WOW it hasn't driven like this for months. Great economy excellent pick up and gear change and acceleration and most importantly no missing. I will keep the 2nd hand part now but if that fails I will buy new as I am now sure of the fault.

Once again thanks for all you expert advice,:) :) :bannana:

Pleased that you are happy :):):)
