ECU Reprogramming?

Cornering Lights, when you turn at below 25mph the appropriate light fades up and then fades off as you straighten up again.

Note how the road is extra lit on the drirection you are turning

Very Cool mod - :)

All you need now are a set of bi xenons to finish it all off nicely... ;)

Flash you have a pm;) Off to do some work now catch you all later!

The cornering light is a superb mod, saw a 203 up near me on Wednesday night with it working. Very cool! I had to look twice.

Greg, does it still work if the fogs are actually switched on?

Great mods mate, OEM is best.

Yes it would still work - if fogs are activated then the relevant fog will still blink in conjuction with the indicator.

Surely not? They only blink if the indicator bulb fails.

If the fogs where turned on manually then they'd just stay on when turning.

if you have the cornering function, expect everyone to say - "hey mate one of your driving lights doesn't work - not very good for a merc!"

yup , im still waiting to get pulled by the police and getting fined for hvaing my fog lamps o too

On face lift W203s MB launched the fog lamp indicator to function (blink) simultaneously with the indicators when turning as per normal! On pre face lift W203s the fog lamps works as a "substitute" for indicator bulb failure.

Cheers m8! Glad you ike it!

I dont know what happens if the fog lights are on already but I'd guess nothing. I'll post an observer as I'm driving and find out!

BTW what is the law on using your front fog lights??

You cannot use fog lighst unless it is "foggy" but there are plenty of "idots "still going around with them on...

If caught you can be fined £30 but no penalty points...

I was once parked sat in my car and there was till daylight left (I had the light sensitivity set upon "maximum sensitivity" - when I swictched the engine off and did not remove key from the ignition until I got out "Plodd" came along in his car and started giving me a lecture because the "Headlamp Locators" (this being the fog lights) had actvated...

Mine doesn't do that! And what would be the point of flashing cornering lights?

Thinking about it, I think that may a foreign market requirement.

Its an "extra" option on the fact lift cars - you have to pay for it or have the cornering headlamp lights in order to have this option...

I think MB launched this feature just to try and differentiate the face lift from the non face lift cars with new toy (s). Its looks good BUT is not needed and the wing mirror indicators are pretty good anyway...

adjustable?

YES - Its a Stealer job but supposed to be easy I ahve been told - when mine was serviced at Steelership my Techie friend was working on the car and did it for me.

Wow, this thread is getting exciting - I've been lurking in the shadows because I'm a newbie and was just trying to make some sense of everything before saying yes or no. One question for my learned friends - I have a 02 W203 face lift model - can I get the cornerning lights bit and the folding mirrors or is my car too old for that?

Maybe I should come along and get the tech guy to run STAR just to see if there any faults stored in the memory for a tenner?

Can I do this?

Of course you can. If your car then can be modded you can ask him to do the ones available to your car. Are you local to kent?

Hi guys,
I'm from Cyprus and I have a C180 Kompressor, 2003 model, UK spec, I'm taking it on Friday/Saturday to a guy who does this kind of modding. The dealer says it cannot be done.
So far, I'm certain I can have the alarm chirp, fuel tank content and outside temperature indicator. I'm unsure about the passenger mirror when reversing and cornering lights...

If you have memory seats then the passenger side mirror automatically "adjusts" moves down when the the gear is in "Reverse" postion. Does your car have memory seats at all? If not then you will not be able to do this particular mod.

Thanks R2D2 for answering my query. Will put my name down for the gtg on the 11th, if its not too late..
