Electric Mirrors - Only one closing?

2002 C Class Sport Coupe.....Electric mirror's were functioning perfectly, now all of a sudden when I press the close button, only the passenger side mirror closes and nothing happens i.e movement, noise on the driver side mirror? The driver side mirror is still able to be re-positioned using the buttons however it won't fold in when the button is pressed.

Any ideas?

Thanks. Not the biggest of deals however it's just one of those small niggles that you don't need when you've just bought the car.

Any idea how to fix or how much it will cost if I get an electrician/local garage to do it? Will also try and give it a helping hand tommorow! Thanks

If can use a soldering iron then this is DIY job.

I have done this on both of my wing mirrors and they work perfectly now.

It seems all is well. I pushed it closed, and then pressed the open button and they are now both opening and closing together. Thanks

I had this happen once but after disableing the auto fold/unfold on command & giving both mirrors a squirt of wd40 they've been fine since.

Mirrors need regular lubrication to keep happy. I use a dry PTFE spray (as used on mountain bike chains) as it doesn't attract grit and fmuck.
