ELM327 interface! Any tech Idea's!

Hi All, I have an ELM327 interface with lots of various software, also car soft software. I want to buy an 32 pin to serial lead which will fit my interface box and car, but will it interact with the box and software!
I assume its just software and the box just interfaces with the software assuming use the corrrect one for mercedes which is carsoft 7.

Genuine ELM327 or cheap chinese (silver) clone?

Not sure what you are after - do you mean a 38 pin Mercedes to 16pin OBDII cable?

Also what car do you have?

I thought they were all from china. Yes its a silver box and it works fine on all other marks. I have E300TD and yes the idea is to purchase a cable for my car.
Just wanted to see if anyone has knowledge about the actual interface unit will it work using carsoft software, ddoes this interface talk with this software.
I have tried asking different sellers but they really dont know, they just want me to buy another interface.
