engine change

hi, has anybody ever fitted a 2006 220 cdi engine into a 52 plate 220 cdi....there are visible differences but dronsfields who supplied the replacement engine say it only requires minor modifications to fit it but have not told us what needs to be done......thanks

Not Done this, no.. BUT the easiest way around this is to have both engines side by side and take photographs.. Audi used to do this for transverse and in line engines whereby it was the same block but different mount holes that were manufactured on the casting i.e one block fits all..kind of thing..
