Engine juddering sometimes....

Are there any guides to changing the O2 sensor and back pressure sensor myself? I'm assuming that it is the O2 sensor that is causing me the problems.

By the way, what does the intake motor do and what would the symptoms be of this failing?

Also, just went through the estimate and they are quoting £110 plus VAT labour for those two sensors

Well the car has now been fixed and to cut a long story short... took the car to Eastbourne Mercedes Benz who basically fixed the car for £450 after discount. Rather than just plug into the computer and pull of the error messages and give me the estimate, these guys actually drove the car after clearing all of the error messages and then read the messages after a run. They worked out that the lambda sensor and glow plug were definately at fault and thus only charged me for this. I was about to pay c£1k to Swansea! Car is running great at the moment!

But it just shows that you need to force these guys to drive and test and actually be mechanics rather than a report reader from Star!!
