Out of no where my CLK displayed ESP/ABS/BAS errors and the engine management light is also on, as well as the fact the speedo didnt work.

All these faults are intermittant and on/off about 50% of the time... exept for the engine management light which is constantly on.

After a bit of googling I replaced a brake switch (£10 and 10 mins) but it made no difference what so ever....
I also had my battery checked at halfords, apparently its fine.

HELP!

I live in stoke-on-trent if anyone can do me a diagnosis...

Smells like a speed sensor.

Hello

Mine was tracked down to a speed sensor on a rear wheel. Fixed for £40

Does under-inflated and/or slightly mis-matched (new and old mixture) tyre sizes cause the same effect on these cars? It throws some cars.

Could be an ABS ring on one of the rear hubs.

STOP GUESSING!

Get it on a Star to check the fault codes first. There is no point in guessing. As you are loosing the speedo I suspect a faulty wheel speed sensor.

^ As above really

I was told on here its probably a brake light switch, my model of car its not a simple £10 fit under the pedals its built into the brake servo.

You then start googling and read all sorts and worry.....

In the end I took it to a specialist who plugged it in and it came up with them tracking it down to a rear wheel speed sensor behind the rear arch, the cable had broken.

So £40 to fix = happy days.

no point just changing bits you don't need.

Well, the problem solved itself :S hasnt been there for the last 8-10 times I've drove the car yesterday but Took it to MERX in stoke, on the star machine and it cleared the faults. I'm waiting for it to come back though then straight back in to change the front left speed sensor which im told was the stored fault
