Hello, I am a complete newbie here.

I live in the States and am looking for a Eurpoean number plate mount for w204 (2009 c300 4matic)

I've already purchased a European license plate and a frame. I just a need a special mounting base for w204's front bumper... I'm sure it's common in UK but I can't find anything here in States...

Help anyone?

i can have alook in the morning. are you adding a front plate?

or if someone can give me a part number so that I can order it somewhere.. any suggestons?

Does anyone know any website that ships parts internationally?

A search on the EPC shows quite a few part numbers but the most prevalent and latest is A204 817 18 78

I did this on a notional chassis number WDB204254. section 88 'attachment parts', subsection 030 'front bumper'.

Your dealer will be able to do the same and can order the part (if you agree it's correct) from Germany. Any part is available anywhere in the world but usually at your risk. For instance...I've just ordered W211 side indicators of US spec from a Scottish dealer and they arrived from Germany within three days.
Be warned. for some reason these mounts are inexplicably expensive. The one for a W211 facelift is £45 (GBP).

Hope this helps.:)

Why do you want a European number plate on the front of your car if you live in the USA?

there is a US option option code 494 for 264 (US cars) im guessing its the amercan shape plythn or did you want the longer Uk version? Just discovered theres another version for 772 AMG kits as well. Any US dealer should be able to figure it out if you give em your VIN though.

And if you live in a State that doesn't require a front plate at all - why bother messing up the front of your car???

Strange............

They like the Euro look (Front plate, normally German)

Correct :)

I remember when I called the dealership and they said they only carry US parts.. strange.. Maybe I'll call again. Thanks for your help!

Yep.. Just called and asked and they said MB USA can't order that for me. But they DO order parts from Germany if it's required for service(I guess engine parts and stuff like that for example..) Lame...

Just to clarify. Yes, I am looking for long wide German version of the number mount..

I was looking for the stainless steel numberplate frame that comes on cars in europe, we dont get it in the UK. Found the partnumber on benzworld, many threads on there about doing the numberplate conversion.

Do a search on benzworld, you will most likely find the part number on there. IIRC there is also a company in the USA that can get the parts.

Dunno if the German mount differs from the UK one? I had a look at a late model C at the stealers yesterday and the mount on that looked not dissimilar to a spare 211 pre-facelift one I have. Post the dimensions of the German plate you have.

4.4 inches high x 20.5 inches wide

107 cars have a chrome surround, part no A1238170378.(I think). Is this the same pn as you have?

Do you mean...would this work on your car, or are you responding to the 'chrome surround' enquiry?

No it wouldn't work on your car cos it's not contoured to the bumper shape. It's designed to fit on top of the Merc mount. Unless you're happy with gaps showing at the edges.

Can you confirm (on here) that you have responded to my email address cos the return path is garbled and I'm unconvinced of the authenticity.

Yeah I was just talking about my car. I figured it wouldn't fit on my car.

Yes I sent you an email... Mine is [email protected] FYI..
