Hi Guys,

As some of you may know, in the next 2 weeks I will be lauching my all new look website. Over the last 3 years my business has evolved greatly and I appriciate mbclub.co.uk and its members have played a huge part in my business developement. Its been a great privelege to work on some of your amazing cars and have met some great people as well as great friends along the way. For this i can not thank you enough and am honoured to be part of this fantastic forum.

As you may also know, (though we have been testing it for over 9 months) Gtechniq officially released last thursday, 'Crystal Serum'. As part of the release myself and kds made official videos demonstrating detailing and application of the product. I am proud to say I have just this minute lauched my official trailor on my youtube HD channel, which can be found here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imYGyDanTjI

This will give you a great insight on how I detail vehicles as well as showing how well the crystal serum works. In a nut shell, if you want to see what I do to your vehicles, this is where its at.

Tomorrow I will be lauching the video on my facebook company page where there will be a compitition to win some of my very own apparel, as well as a tub of my signature custom wax, 'Black Magic' which was formulated by Bouncers (Who is actually a forum member by chance!) This can be found here:

https://www.facebook.com/gemclean.detailing

I really look forward to you guys taking a look at the video and giving me your feedback on what you think.

Once again is been an honour to be part of this forum, and look forward to many years of helping you on your quest to automotive perfection and crazy car cleaning :)

Kind Regards

Michael

That is undoubtedly a very polished and professional looking video of detailing pornography.

Who is it aimed at though? Are you marketing the product or the service?

Hi there,

Ive been wanting to do a detailing video for quite some time, and with the new lauch of the website it was a great time to do a detailing trailer. With the added benifit of the most advanced protection in the world being released it was a great time to show how it works. As very few will have this product even in the long run, and as all the cars ive completed for members have been finished in crystal lacquer lsp's its great for the guys who are interested in 9h coatings.

Also for the people who want to see what i do across the board!

Cheers Mike

I would think it is aimed at both.

Very impressive Michael.

Michael, could you enable the video for mobile devices? Cannot watch it on ipad.

+1. I'd like to view it on my nexus 7

Hi,

My media guy is changing the track so that it'll work fine. I'll let you guys know ASAP.

Cheers
Mike

Had a word with a local guy, he says he applies Gtechniq C1.5 afterwards and wants the car to cure for 24 hours. Is this right?

C1.5 v2 silo is really a top up sealant spray. As a standalone lsp is great and lasts a few months but works fantastic as a re activator for C1 crystal lacquer. But works the same as spray sealants such as V7 or z8 so doesn't need any curing time. Even C1 only needs a minimum curing time of 8-10 hours before EXOv2 and crystal Serum only needs 6-8 hours prior to EXOv2. But as a law I always keep cars 24 hours inside in my warm studio so that the client gets super high durability for years to come. But then every client has lots of things completed. So while it's curing the interiors being detailed or the wheels are being removed & deep cleaned.

But no, a trigger sealant doesn't need 24 hours. Only there 9h coatings, hydrophobic coatings and the uber strong crystal serum (9h top coat with flexible 7h bottom coat) I let cure for 24 hours.

Only thing with crystal serum is I only wait 8 hours between crystal serum and exov2 coating as exov2 can sometimes like to ghost on crystal serum that's been down too long.

Cheers

No this guy's method is..Prep includes snow foam pre-washing and iron decontamination with iron-x snow soap wash. Clay bar if required followed by a light machine one step cleaner polish. The surface is then prepped with Eraser to remove any trace of oils or wax before application.

He then applies the C1 and when cured applies the. C1.5

Is EXOv2 better to use than the C1.5?

Thanks

Graham

Hi,

C1.5v3 is not necessary on top of C1. It's really a product to use on it's own for a quick application of protection or a re activator for C1 every 6 months. I have clients though who like to use it every time they wash the car which is fine. But exov2 is nothing like c1.5 as it's a hydrophobic coating & works in harmony with crystal lacquers. So in a nut shell (unless you would like me to explain exactly why they are two different products) EXOV2 is much much better then C1.5v3 over C1.

Cheers Mike

Many thanks Mike...the nutshell version is adequate. I'll get the EXOv2 applied over the C1. :thumb:

Nice video Mike. But for those of us who are less into the detail of detailing, how about some captions at each stage to say what you're using? (Especially needed at around 2:20 where it looks as though you're polishing the engine bay then using the same pad on the seats! ;))

On an aside, I was interested to see how you were claying. I only used a clay bar for the first time a week or so back and thought I had to work on a small area at the time. You seemed to be covering a larger area so I now know it'll be easier and quicker for me next time :thumb:

Hi, lol the red foam applicators are for dressing. I have hundreds of them and very colour co-ordinated so I can assure you they were most definitely 2 totally different applicators:)

As for claying I'm not sure what you mean by claying a small area?? You should be claying your whole car before even thinking about using IPA or re-washing to remove your clay sling.

Kind Regards
Michael

Don't worry, I knew you were using different applicators. I just chuckled at the way it looked :D

By claying a small area at a time I meant working on roughly a 6" to 9" diameter area before moving across to an adjacent area. That was my interpretation of the instructions that came with my Bilt Hamber clay, but clearly doesn't need to be that small. I wasn't talking about cleaning that area each time. You were doing big light sweeps of the whole wing, which for a car like mine that had very little in the way of contaminates seems a far better method. I've been equally puzzled by the definition of "small area" with polishes and waxes. For example, how many "small areas" are there on a bonnet? I guess in those instances it depends on ambient temperature and how quickly it's glazing over.
