Exterior door handle sometimes stuck in extended position - w203

The two rear exterior door handles on my 2006 w203 sometimes get stuck in the extended position - see picture below. They will pop back into place when the door is slam shut, but the whole thing is annoying. It is only the two rear ones that do that, front ones are fine. Tried silicon spray etc - lubing it does not seem to help. Any suggestions...? Thanks!
