F1 on Sunday!!

..........cheating lol? dont think so....

Hamilton deserved the title..

As they said, Massa was the better man on the day and deserved to win the race but over the course of the year the better driver has been Hamilton so the tile is well deserved

It was very unfortunate to see Coulthard's final race ending at the first corner.

Very true. He does have an worthy record in F1. 130 odd raves i think and 60 odd podiums...with some decent wins to his name such as SPA AND Australia in the past.

I am thrilled that Hamilton won, The season has had many controversial decisions go against him and I think he deserved the championship, I think maclaren made it very hard work for themselves, they should have fuleed hamitlon for a short first stint given the liklihood of rain and safety car, and then he could have held Mass a back without haveing to fight his way all through the race. Did feel sorry for Massa's dad though, must have been a real choker for him, but thats racing for you.

Go Hamilton!!!

Not felt like that since Micheal Thomas scored in the dying seconds against Liverpool.
There's no need to bring back such sad personal memories....

Well done Hamilton - if you ignore the Spa farce that would put him & Massa equal on wins. Glock's last lap was a bit suspect though.....

....let's not go there. Fair result overall

You are right, Trulli's last lap was a 1:44:800 and he gambled on slicks too.
Wasn't Kubica still on slicks [hence being able to unlap himself before it got wetter]

No he wasn't - he pitted a couple of laps before Hamilton/Vettel

The FIA usually control the outcome of a race. Today it was Toyota/Glock.

Whether it was done deliberately or not, I wonder how many teams/drivers would have done such a thing given the opportunity.

I think Hamilton may have rubbed a few other drivers up the wrong way, but nothing like what the FIA and Ferrari have done in recent times.

If it had been me, I too might have slowed down to let a few past, err I mean neglected to change to inters.

:D

Great race though, and the right result overall. But I would say that being a British Mercedes owner, and McLaren fan!! ;)

Apparently the FIA has decided to declare the race result for Massa as him finishing in P1++. The extra two points now makes him the champion.

If you want to blame something for the result blame the weather. It has been a great mixer of outcomes this year.

Massa would not have needed more than one point, at equal points he would have the title.

The weather clearly hit Hamilton this time, you can see that it does not help if you are a good driver and have a good car for wet (Massa is good on wet but Ferrari is absolutely not this year), Vettel is even better in wet and his car is as good as the McLaren on wet too. At dry Hamilton was driving pretty safely being fourth.

Hamilton almost made Timo crash out from the track a couple of races ago, he would not have voluntarily let Vettel and Hamilton pass him.

In my opinion, this year Hamilton did deserve to win the title, also in my opinion just like he did, that is almost losing it but getting it after all at the last corner. Congratulations for the new champion and all his supporters here at the forum!

There is always one moaner
A british champion, a british car, a merc V8
What else do we want?

Errrr..... not sure about the McLaren chassis and Merc V8....Ferrari won the constructors...by a massive 21 point margin ! :D

I was pleased that Hamilton/McLaren won since I felt they had to compete with other teams AND the sports governing body for most of the season. I felt that sometimes Ferrari's protests were in the finest tradition of Italian Serie A where guys regularly fall over in agony in the penalty area clutching their leg at the merest hint of contact with the opposing team players.;) That said I thought Felipe Massa displayed great dignity at the end of the race and showed his gratitude to the Brazilian fans for their support. He was obviously gutted and it showed, but he acquitted himself well. He drove a great race but it just wasn't enough.
I hope that we don't get a surfeit of "Hamilton Mania" now that he has won with lots of interviews by media people who wouldn't know a formula 1 car if it bit them on the a--e. But I fear the worst. Hopefully the McLaren publicity machine will keep things under control since as the saying goes " You can have too much of a good thing":o

I just sincerely hope Honda sort themselves out for the new regulations...be nice to see Button in a competitive vehicle.

With Ross Brawn there it's just a matter of time.
