Fallen 452's or 912's

Had a look on Falkens website and looked on their tyre pressure list and the nearest I could find to my CLK55 was a CLK500 (didn't know there was a 208 version??) and it has fronts at 36 psi and rears at 39?? :dk::dk::dk:

No , run them at the tyre pressures indicated in your fuel flap.

Just don't stomp on the gas ALL the time ! :o

Just checked Berkeleys near Heathrow and offered me fitted/balance etc £86 each - not even 10 mnutes from me:thumb:

Howard - I'm using the pressures as per fuel flap - I was just so surprised with the difference - MB suggest 2.1 front and I think 2.3 rear??

Yes the S-Class is on it's second set of 452's. I find them quite..

I looked at the 452s and ended up buying Kumho KU31s.

Only fitted today but impressed with the lack of noise and the grip is good so far. I'm sure they will get better when bedded in.

totally agree as I posted on Corned's thread Falken road noise is just too intrusive, Got Kumho on the Audi A8 and so far brilliant great grip wet and dry and silent much better than Falken. Can't comment on wear yet as they have not been on long enough

But no more Falkens for me I'm afraid :(

It's just so weird .....

The road noise off my 452's is just non existant , you only get road noise on the horrible concrete motorways ...

Maybe they differ from size to size ? batch to batch ?

Seem to get conflicting reviews on the Kumho's and the Falkens looking on the interweb:D

some say noisy - some do not on both tyres - as you say it could be different sizes/batch or just different car or road surface.

Much of the M25 is concrete and it wouldn't matter if you put pillows round the tyres they would make a noise.

I'm not too worried about noise (old and deaf - pardon) its tramlining that bothers me - yes everything checked by Wheels in Moton!! and spot on!

I need two 285/35/18's for the SL...Falken don't do 912's in that size but do them in 452's. Will they be ok for the SL (R230) with regard to not being XL rated or reinforced??

Worth noting that the 912's are claimed by Falken to be an "All Seasons" tyre although they are not actually winter rated.

My son has them fitted to his Focus and they worked well in the recent snow.

I thought there was a rear wheel bearing starting to go on my e220 some while ago but it all disappeared when the winter wheels and tyres went on. The noise was the 452's nearing the end of their life, 4mm or so tread left. I couldn't believe how much noise they were making, it sounded like a bearing was about to fall apart. They were 235/45 17's by the way.
