Fastest car you have been in ??

Same for me.....
Only thing that came close to the car was my anniversary edition fire blade..... Which I got rid of a few months back purely on the grounds of safety.....and wanting to stay alive:eek:

I'd have nominated yours Lee, but as the thread was titled Fastest & been in, couldn't do it as I've still not been in it. :wallbash:

Quickest is probably my E55. The scariest was a 2WD Sapphire Cosworth I used to own.

AC Cobra replica with blueprinted 6.0L V8 .... with nitrous.

Only car I have got serious tunnel vision in ... completely mad !

Jaguar F1 two seater piloted by Anthony Davidson.

You lucky lucky thing!!!

I can't even begin to imagine. And I'll bet (and hope) that Ant Davo was a really nice lad.

Ant.

Top guy one of the nicest racers I have ever met . I was lucky enough as one of my pals was marketing director for Ford Motorsport. He is now the Global Marketing Director for Ford Global performance vehicles and he got me a shot in it at a jaguar test day.

I know what felt the fastest, and that was being in the back seat of my Father in Laws tuned Saphire Cosworth when I was around 12 years old. My goodness it felt fast! My parents had a Morris 1800 at the time!

That was my childhood dream car Bobby. Mum & dad had a white 2000e sapphire. I always fantasised it was a Cossie.

Have you ever Met Jenson Button Ian? He always comes across really well.

Ant

I once sat in a Miura. That was a fast car to have been in.

Yep met Jenson and his dad at Castle Coombe when I was driving the safety car. I was out on track doing the inspection and came back to the drivers lounge to find my daughter sat between Jenson and his dad. Both really nice people Jenson signed loads of stuff for my daughter.

Other really nice racers I've met are David Coulthard, Nico Rosberg, Eddie Irvine, Colin and Jimmy McRae, Malcolm Wilson, Tony Pond, Richard Burns, Martin Brundle, Gerhard Burger, Damon Hill,

Those are the ones that really stand out.

I also have a list of ar*seholes whose heads are so far up their a*rse they forget it's the fans that got them where they are.

TVR Chimera 4.3 Had use of one for 6 months- bonkers fun.

The fans, not the drivers' talent got them where they are?

I think Ian meant if there were no fans, they'd be no sport to partake in.

Imagine an F1 race with not one fan at the circuit? Or a football match with a totally empty stadium?

Fans are a vital part of every sport in the world. Ok ok. Maybe not Chess!!!

Ant. :D

It is sponsors who pay. More frequently than not those sponsors are promoting goods or services that the fans will never buy. Bringing brands to the attention of the (relative) handful of people who will (and schmoozing them on the way) is the life blood of F1.

I agree totally. I was meaning it the way of atmosphere, not financial loss.

No fans, no atmosphere and in the end, no sport.

What I meant was the drivers would be nothing in public life without their fans.

As for talent that's for another thread put an average driver in a world beating car and he will win the championship simples. In modern F1 Technology wins races not driver ability.

Can't stand sports men or women that treat their fans like sh*te. Manners cost nothing and manners maketh the man. That was really my point

Funny enough only on the radio the other week cant remember who but said between all of the drivers there is hardly difference in times.

Basically who wins the championship is the chap with the better car.

Any of the rental cars I've driven as we all know ow a Hertz car is the fastest thing on earth :-)

Fastest car I've owned would be the Insignia VXR or the Boxster S, fastest I've driven would probably be a Murcielago , fastest I've been in world be a Focus RS WRC car.

Ahh, the courtesy car. :D Took it home whilst mine was being fettled. Interesting and possibly the harshest ride in the world...

It wasn't the most forgiving ride, no. It was hilarious to drive in the rain as it was when I drove it.

Not familiar with this

This was a previous Vmax day - in fact the last one I did before the price went up to £450 or something equally nuts.

Before the under tray decided it wanted to leave you John? Seriously, yours was brilliant that day, shame I had to leave early but enjoyed it, even though my helmet didn't fit you. ;)

Yes, was a great day wasn't it. I couldn't reach that speed again once my under tray had gone - just shows how much difference it makes to the aerodynamics.

I used Marty359's crash helmet - and ongoing theme! (Cheers Marty!).

Fastest car? Chris A's CLS takes a bit of catching, and has truly broken that 200 mark on the German runs which he does.

Has he sold that yet or has he decided to keep it? I've not seen him on here much in the last few months...
