Faulty headlight washers on '03 C209

Just picked up an '03 CLK240 Avantgarde and according to the previous owner of 17 years the headlight washers have never worked.

Any idea where I should be looking first?

Only put the deposit down so far. Don't pick the car up until the weekend. Where is the pump located on these? Replaced the headlight washer pump on an E39 and it was located side by side with the windscreen pump under the o/s wheel arch liner. Please tell me it's as easy as that

Just be aware they only work every few (five?) times the washers are activated with headlamps on.

Noted. But this car has the button to squirt manually.

Yes but you still are restricted to how many times you can operate them, headlamps must be on too. It is to stop you emptying the screenwash bottle. Does the pump run when you try to use them ?

I'll double check tomorrow when I pick the car up. But pretty sure they're not working.

No motor noises at all so I assume the pump is the first place to look.

Washer pump ordered and on the way.
