I liked the colour of mine so I bought it.
I had no idea about the spec, engine size or fuel etc when I saw it, I just knew it wasn't another AMG so I was going to fit the bill.
Never test drove it or saw it in person before I picked it up. Never looked it over in the showroom at collection.
Drove it home and went to the pub.....its been sat on the drive or in the garage mostly since.

I still think its a nice colour
LOL you sound like my mother!!!!

"I have a red car" Mrs Lennox when asked what she drives.

It was never going to be a match to the car it was replacing, so as long as I liked the look of it and it was fit for purpose, it does.

Nice car, glad you're happy Ant
Interested to hear what you think of the 300 engine

I live 2 miles from that stealer / dealer. I can always pop round and make a socially distanced noise whilst other prospects are in the showroom if they play silly B's asking loudly if "all their Approved cars come with welded wheels like that white C300......"

hehe. That made me laugh! 😂
it’s the 300h Diesel engine. (2.1) quick enough for us. Nice in Sports+ but holds the gears when off throttle. Sport mode is better IMO.

Comfort & Eco mode is cool driving around the village on electric.

Wee update. I emailed MB Customer Services last weekend. I instantly received an automated reply saying how important my message is to them but due to the current C-19 situation and reduced team my query may take longer to respond to. Anyhow, not heard anything as of yet.

I’ve also emailed the Salesman at the dealership (Twice) with a few findings.
  • High Gloss Black beltline strip around the 4 doors has a very unsightly ‘mottled’ look to it. At first I assumed it was dried water droplets but I’ve tried a few different products on a section of it and it just comes back when dry. It’s 100% smooth to touch.
  • 2nd key fob is not working. Maybe just a battery (hopefully) but should have been tested before handover
  • I’ve also requested they reconsider the alloy replacement
The salesman in question hasn’t replied to either email.

See what next week brings. 🤞

Had that issue on the blue one. Couldn't correct it. Finish is damaged potentially by Eastern car washes using strong chemicals.

So, if the marks are there to stay its either replacements or a high gloss wrap? What did you do with yours?

Got those marks on mine too Ant, only way to fix is to replace them or wrap them... :( I would replace over wrap myself the replacement should not have the same issue as you will not be using strong chemicals to wash the car etc... wrapping would probably be cheaper though

Cheers Abs. Not the end of the world. But it’s something they failed to tell me. They sent a little presentation video. The salesman stating it was in 100% showroom condition. They obviously knew about this defect but didn’t point it out.

I guess it’s the downside of buying a car remotely. I’d have spotted that and asked what they planned to do about it before handover. 🙄

I'd still be asking them what they are going to do about this and any other issue before you reject it. ;)

Hate it when sales folk ignore emails when they contain something that requires them to get off their backside and do something.

Also go a Google maps review of the showroom that's seems to grab their attention each time I do it.

Check out this review of Glasgow Audi on Google Maps

yeah. Abs has already advised me todo that.

But, on top of your usual rights, distance selling rules should apply (not as described)

Little update:

5 days after my email I received a phone call from MB customer services. The lady said:
  • The MOT certificates are now online only so that is the reason the car was supplied without a printed copy (?) but they will send me a hard copy.
  • Seeing as the car passed its MOT they deem that there are no safety issues with a welded alloy but on this occasion, as a good will gesture, they will replace FOC and our local MB dealer (Carlisle) will be in touch to arrange.
Unfortunately we didn't receive the MOT certificate (no big deal) or a phone call from BM of Carlisle. So I called them yesterday (10 days after the call from Customer services) to see if they had any record of the replacement but unfortunately they didn't. So, another email sent to MBCS quoting the name and number of the caller. Awaiting another response.

Alongside this I also received a call from the Manager at MB Southhampton because he'd had a 'Complaint alert' (his words) about my experience. To be fair to him he asked about my buying experience and wanted to know everything from start to end. The phone call lasted a good 20 minutes. He thanked me for my time and said he would look into it and call me back the following day with a solution that hopefully would suit. True to his word he called back and said the following:
  • A replacement alloy will not be offered by them as it had passed it's MOT and therefor not a safety issue (He was not aware of the offer from MBCS, or maybe just was not letting on).
  • The mottled trims (12 in total) have been ordered in and will me sent up to me FOC on the basis that I have them fitted locally. Great news but will be happier if/when they arrive.
  • 2 replacement key fob batteries were posted and arrived. I've popped one in the 2nd remote and all is well.
  • He apologised for the salesman not responding to any of my emails.
So, we'll see what happens from here. I think it's very strange to receive a phone call as opposed to an official email form both MBCS and MB Southampton. But maybe that's just the way they do things? A good friend suggested I remove the wheel and see the weld for myself. If its tiny and neat it will put my mind at rest. If it's big and ugly then I can send photo's to push the case harder. I will do this tomorrow.

The good news it that the car is wonderful. Suits our needs and there's nothing about it (aside from the obvious) that disappoints. Been out for many many drives after work with our daughter just for the sake of going for a drive. Can't remember doing that in many years. Chuffed to bits. Have ordered a new black gloss Grille and have got some high gloss black exhaust trims too. Will hold off ordering new number plates until we decide on a budget cherished plate.
