I Loewe Old Skool AMG
I got myself a kit for fitting fire-extinguisher.

on box it says fire-ex. expires in May 2015.
why does MB sell these with short dates?
should I go back and complaint, that I want a newer one with longer exp. date?

what happens to fire-ex. after the date expired, does content go bad?

Mine went off years ago, and the shelf life of any extinguisher is normally short.

I wouldn't say it's MBs fault, think its just the way it is.

Not sure what happens to the contents, might lose pressure? Or maybe it's a safety net for the manufacturers incase it doesn't work when you use it?

Fire extinguishers do not have long shelf lives full stop. We get our workshop ones checked every year

the content in F.E. is it refill tubes or do I need to get a new complete FireEx-tube from stealership everytime the date expired?
this would be a waste of money for this part everytime date expires!

No, if you deem it necessary to carry a fire extinguisher, look at it as an insurance policy due every 2years.

i know it's a good investment for this option, you never know if you need it yourself or you need to rescue someone else?

i was asking if the content could be taken out and refilled with new gas when experation date passed?

there are many sold as used parts on german ebay, i guess these F-E are all bad?

If anything valid to 2015 is a long time for a extingusier. as said above normally they need to be replaced/serviced anually.

omg mine is still pressurized and is from 1997. Ouch he says when it doesn't work while trying to be a Hero.
