First Merc - W204 C63 AMG Estate

That's a good looking wagon & i like the black wheels - good choice sir..!!
In my opinion you can't beat an AMG wagon - ultimate Q car - i just love my E63 as do all my family & friends....every drive is an event & that V8 soundtrack is epic....
Enjoy..!!

Also do they have to be 204 wheels or do 205 18s fit?
205 18" wheels from a saloon/estate do technically fit on a 204. The front sticks out 13.4mm more than standard and the rear by 4.3mm more.

I had 205 19" (same geometry) wheels on mine for a while with summer tyres and after switching back to 204 wheels the steering definitely suffers a bit with the wider track. I also got more understeer as the lower offset affects the scrub radius.

In short, you can and it's 'OK' but I wouldn't recommend it.

thanks Steve and will look at that option.

front ET for 204 wheels is 45 and rear 54 right?

if I can get some 205 wheels at 8j with 45 ET is should be fine. if the rear is 8.5j and say a 50 off set then it would work and can use

There aren't any 205 wheels with those sort of measurements to my knowledge. 8.5J is a bit slim on the back of a C63 anyway.

204 is indeed 8J ET45 and 9J ET54.

had the wheels done. The Alloy wheel clinic in Farnham did a great job at a great price. 220 plus vat

wheels were acid dipped, then shot blasted, then a few coats in Powder coating and baked. they had the car friday and back today - take your time I said and really happy with the finish.

that is all that needed doing really. down to Uncle Benz's soon for a chat, checkover, some coffee and some choccy digestives.

Looks really good with the black wheels, it's funny I'm not a fan of black wheels normally but on these cars, especially in estate guise they really suit the car. Probably will get mine done black too, but possibly with a polished lip, just to break it up. Farnham is close to me too so will check them out.

Nice wagon, also a fellow wagon owner and had mine for 4 years and can’t find anything I’d want to change it for. Just have to remember when I have the dog with me otherwise I sometimes get an unexpected “thud” noise from the back of the car...

The c63 estate is the best car I’ve ever owned. I’m looking to replace the c63 estate at the moment but struggling to find another unique car that’s as immaculate as mine and sounds as good as the noise of the v8 😁

Mountain biking and V8 Mercs are both excellent hobbies. Both can get expensive but hey ....

Welcome

agreed Paul but life is too short to worry about all that. just bought a cyclo cross bike for gravel and trails plus it came with some road wheels which switch out easy.

I did laugh at the comment about the dog in the back and the thud.

all is good and nothing to mention. other than fuel....lots of. it just thunders along eating up miles too. plus I picked up a decet size BBQ in it the other week!!

I have now got some 18 inch W204 AMG 5 spoke rims which I have tried out. wow does it ride better on those rims. they have summer tyres on at moment but need to get them refurbed in satin black and winter tyres on.

come November i am thinking its going to be a proper handful in the cold and wet and will have that certainty on the winter tyres. even in the south it can get cold and we decent have some snow last year. I had a 997 C2 on winters and it was a riot and could easily get around while others were stuffed.

not surprised with a 507 estate!! super rare.

Lovely motor. Looks aggressive. Did it come with the AMG side stripe decals?

yes it did and spare on too - in case I run out of talent with the jet wash ;-) . you can get them off ebay too

winters are on as its starting to get cold. it was 2 degrees when I went out this morning and its only early November!!

am sure it will be mid teens soon now I have put them on!! just my luck.

the old fun bus is on winters and the ride is so much better on those. the softer winter tyres help too. plenty of tread and grip to stop me running out of talent ;-)

warm at moment but getting colder soon.

still looks the part on the OEM 18s.

Big dump of snow sunday which meant I was on snow and sledging duty. sledges, coats gloves and what not in the bot and off we went!!

Panzer was epic on the winter tyres and what a riot. sideways all over the place and drifting at every roundabout. it was just hilarious as a slight prod of the loud pedal meant instant grins and laughter.

big hill near us and people looking on thinking no chance and what is he doing....and up she chugged. ha ha

It really is as simple as having the right tyres for the job. I got similar stares when I went out for a mini drifting session near where I live. Lots of fun.
