First Private Sale of an SLS AMG?

I love the looks of the sls which come for a prize. You know what, every time I see one though it makes me think how lazy merc designers have been with the wheels. Not a single one looks right with their sets of ally wheels.

It seems they made this beautiful body and then stuck a set of mainstream amg wheels on it, same style as the new C and E classes.

This car needed sth more, more effort for sth special like the slr turbine wheels, not bling, but a complex design. See for example the porsche wheels.

Porsche 918 Price Leaked

Anyway maybe i am just too fussy. Of course the wheels are not the reason I will not been getting one.

Thought of the day - wonder if the fancy door opening of the SLS would make it tricky to park in most garages

An SLS with the doors open is not taller than a G Class, and the doors don't need nearly as much clearance widthways, so as long as you can stand up in your garage with a bit of headroom to spare you should be all right.

Looking at the photograph below, I'm surprised at the rather clumsy placement of the door striker plate. Surely there must have been a better engineering solution than that.

Also, I wonder why the protective cover on the sill doesn't extend to the area where it's most likely to be needed?

Maybe it's like other supercars, superb cars but not superb development. If all the development was done at AMG I doubt they had a team of engineers entirely focused on hinges and latches as they do at other OEMs.

Cracking car as it is if you had £190k to spend on a car would you honestly spend it on a SLS AMG..??

When I got out of the one I sat in recently I cracked my head on the gullwing door.:o----- Think w124 bootlid and you will get the idea.
Sitting in it, the interior had a strange retro feel about it somehow- with the wide body and high upright dash and front screen the car it most reminded me off was an early Corvette Stingray.:dk:

I think they're very overpriced, i'd pay £110k at the most and i think the design is a bit lacking in flair, £157k is pushing the envelope but £190k is getting into Ferrari 599 territory and i know where my money would go.
